Another day, another spread shit...sheet. Actually, it was a Word document that day. A write up about some of the items on offer from the new line. Liam thought with my experience at the NME, I'd be perfect to give the description and I was happy to give it a shot.
I got about two paragraphs done when my office door swung open. My heart skipped a beat when I saw that shit eating grin in the doorway.
"Alright, Mrs. Gallagher. Have a look at this!" He walked up to my desk and threw a magazine on top of it.
My eyes widened at the cover story.
Looking Back in Anger: Liam and Noel Wonderbrawling Again with Jules Caught in Between
Our pictures were blown up big to fit the front page. One of them featured me and Liam walking down a side walk hand in hand while the other showed Noel by himself with his mouth open like he was about to say something. There was another small one of me superimposed between the big ones. A lovely picture of me and my resting bitch face that, to the papers, showed me distraught over yet another Gallagher Brother Battle. I couldn't remember where I'd been when they snapped it but it was obvious I wasn't wearing any makeup.
"Gonna sign that or what?" He spoke again. "Might be worth somethin' some day."
It took every ounce of my being to keep my mouth shut. I would've loved to just tell him to fuck off but I was better than that.
And then my office phone rang.
"Click here." I instructed as I leaned against the back of his chair.
"Where?" He asked.
"There." I pointed again.
He clicked and a new slide popped up on the screen.
"Okay." I looked for the sheets of paper he wrote notes on. "What'd you wanna put on this one?"
He grabbed a piece of paper and set it out so he could see it better.
"Alright. Give it a title."
He did and then it came time to add the bullet points to the slide.
"What the fuck's that red line for?" He asked curiously.
"Because you spelled it wrong." I informed him.
"No I didn't!"
"Yes you did! Come on, Liam. This isn't Twitter. You need to use a bit more than shorthand."
"They don't put much on 'em anyways!" He shook his head. "That's why I need ya to-"
"I ain't makin' your Power Point for you!" I interrupted. "I told you I'd help you but I'm not-"
"I know that!" He whined. "But I still don't-"
"Liam." I put my hand over his mouth. "Relax." I began rubbing both of his lower jaws.
He sighed and leaned back in his chair letting his chin feel heavy in my hands. "Can we go to lunch now?" He said softly. "I'm hungry...for a bit a...you."
I tapped his cheek. "Not here, you-"
"I know." He nodded a little. "That's why I said we should go out."
I rolled my eyes and then his office phone beeped to signal someone was calling through the speaker.
"Alright, Liam. Jules." Pat said.
