The bedroom was quiet and dark once again...until I heard the tiptoeing of little feet.
And felt little fingers nudging my shoulder.
"Auntie Jules?"
I opened my eyes and nearly gasped when I saw Sonny but not because he scared me.
"What's wrong?" I asked curiously.
His tears got even worse. "I had an accident!" He sobbed.
I got my arms out from under the blankets as quick as I could and pulled him into a hug. "Shh! It's alright. We'll get it sorted. Come on!"
The boys each had extra blanket sets for their beds so it was no trouble to change his sheets. He had a history of wetting the bed but by then he'd pretty much grown out of it.
There was still a pad under the sheets though to protect the mattress so that was one less thing to worry about.
"There." I said as I ran my fingers through his bangs after I tucked him and Baxter back in bed. "All better now, eh?"
He smiled and nodded at me.
I smiled back. "Good night, Kid." I kissed his forehead and turned off his lamp.
Liam breathed softly as I crawled back in bed beside him. He jerked when I brushed against him.
"Are them kids in here?" He asked quickly.
"No." I replied. "They're both in their own rooms."
"Thank fuck!" He sat up and grabbed at the bottom of his t-shirt.
I giggled as I watched him take it off and then his pajama pants.
He sighed contentedly as he lay back down and cuddle into me. "And none a that's goin' back on 'til the mornin'." He pointed back towards where he threw them on the floor. "D'ya hear me?"
"Yes." I couldn't help giggling more.
He smirked. "Are you takin' the piss?" He asked curiously.
I grinned like an old possum. "Never." I replied.
He chuckled as he squeezed me tighter.
"I suppose I do owe you a big favor though." I ran my finger back and forth across his arm. "For helping with the boys and that."
He nodded. "You do, yeah. I've done good, me. Behaved m'self-" He stopped as he crawled on top of me.
"Liam-"
"C'mon, Blue!" He whined. "You owe me one. A big one, right? Fuckin' massive-" He locked his lips with mine.
I pushed him back. "Them kids-"
"They won't hear us." He shook his head. "We'll be quiet, yeah? Won't even hear a pin drop-"
"No." I said firmly looking right up into his eyes.
He tutted but acquiesced and went back to his place in bed.
"Take your turn, yeah?" Liam said nodding at Donovan. "So I can win this already."
"You won't win, Uncle Liam." Donovan informed him as he drew a card and moved his game piece to the respective color on the board. "Cheaters never do."
