14. the engagement

Hey guys.....one more update for you this week. I want to update twice weekly but I don't generally get sufficient time for both. I will update twice when I get enough time and in other times....it will be once a week. I believe I am not hurting you.....hope you are enjoying my story.....

Arjun took a deep breath looking at his reflection. He is not nervous.....he just wanted to hide his excitement of his engagement but failed miserably. His smile made him remember her cherry red face and it increased his smile. He vowed he will keep her smiling their entire lives. He wanted to know what she is wearing today but her friends made sure she will never give such information to him. So he wore what he liked. The red shirt with black pant looked good for him. He did not take out his coat as it is stupid to wear a coat in hot summer. Finally deciding he is looking great he came out.

His home got busy with his relatives moving here and there. All the women as usual are in the rooms trying to look their best for today. Kids were running in all rooms and getting scoldings from the adults. But they are kids so they never stopped their legs from working continuously. His sister greeted him first watching him from head to toe and nodding her head horizontally as if she did not like it. He smacked her and walked to the hall. Few men are busy with their phones and few are indulged in deep discussion. Arjun's appearance made the men turn to him.

They saw the boy who is too glowing. They realised he is a walking light. His mother came to him in few minutes later with her husband. Arjun's father, suresh was happy but arjun know the reason behind his happines. It is not because suresh's partner is becoming his family now but only because he is finally able to get the company intact. Suresh behaved well with gopal but only arjun and his mother knew he is acting.....acting since gopal married his mother's cousin.

Suresh convinced gopal to marry rupa. He at first did not liked the idea as suresh sister nandana is madly in love with him. But the girl for some reason ended in psychiatric hospital. So suresh somehow got his friend married with rupa. Later suresh got very mad at everybody he never came to home or even send a letter to his family. After one year he came back but all knew he is not the same. He was good to everyone outside but in his home he showed his real character. Arjun never liked his father or his father liked his son or even acted so. Jyothi bared him for many years and took care of arjun as much as possible.

It was only after his son joined in IIT suresh spoke with him. His son understand his father very well and acted in front of him. Both of them disliked each other. So watching him keep a big smile in front of others as if he is happy for his son is boiling Arjun's blood. He is ready to hit his father but for his mother's sake he got calm and focused on his future wife.

The engagement in india is celebrated as a ceremony. It is first part in the elaborate process(also a memorable part in the life) of marriage. And also an official party to announce the marriage. So naturally the bride's home is decorated for the occasion. Flowers are arranged in every corner and floor to give a bright look to the house. Every single person were surprised to see the groom shining like a star. Kids tried to catch his attention and did all the stupid things to impress him. Though nothing worked out for their disappointment. Arjun is waiting impatiently for Samyuktha.

Rupa sat next to his mother who spoke non stop as if they met after many years though truly speaking they are meeting each day. His father is speaking with some random person much to Arjun's relief. Pooja ran to Samyuktha's room on entering the house leaving him with the kids. Their innocent talks only increased his impatience but their looks lessened his anger.
