44. surprise!

All the three cars reached the burnt hospital. They came out and split into groups searching for samyuktha. Arjun and sampath went into next building and searched in second floor with phone lights. They found nothing and were about to go to third floor when they heard a noise coming from same floor.

They stopped in their tracks and turned back. Slowly and alarmed both the best friends walked towards the source of noise. They entered the room which had several books for entertaining the patients. As they walked through the bookshelves, they heard another noise.

"Somebody has come inside" a woman whispered which was close to them. Arjun looked around with his flash.

"Somebody wants to play a game. Shall we?" The woman whispered. Suddenly all the lights switched on surprising them.

"Rule no one. No cheating"

"Rule no two. No peeking"

"Rule no three. No helping"

"Rule no four. Don't think you can find me" the woman sang in their ears. Both turned back but only heard footsteps. They followed the footsteps thinking they can catch her.

The room echoed with the woman's laughter. The lights flickered making it bit difficult to search in the library. As they thought they spotted the ghost, vinamra yelled loudly making the lights to break spontaneously.

They closed their ears till they were confident that the ghost stopped shouting. They came out of the room and looked around for the ghost.

"I'm so scared!" Disha said clutching danush's hand.

"Oh my god! I'm romancing while searching for a ghost!" Danush exclaimed but held disha's hand tightly. Both looked into each room but did not dare to enter any one of them.

"What are you both doing here?" A man in security dress asked them. They both stopped in their tracks and looked at the security guard. They never heard of one staying there!

"Who are you? " danush asked in fear.

"It is my question young man. No stupid things in this building. There is a ghost in this building" the security guard told them.

"What if I say I'm the ghost? " damush asked him. The security guard laughed loudly hearing him.

"What if I say you are wrong?"

"How can you be so sure?"

"Because....."

"Because? " both of them asked.

The man smirked making them realise who it was. They ran in opposite direction but the man appeared in front of them, blocking their way.

"Nobody leaves untill ma says" the man informed them. Danush and disha llooked around and saw burnt people surrounding them. They stood close to each other but the people simply stared at them standing like walls around them. It is clear that they can't move without getting killed.

"Run!" Jyothsna yelled at her friend. Smrithi slipped on the ground but stood up ignoring the pain and followed her friend. They ran till they reached alex. Alex looked at them in shock.

"What happened?" Alex asked in fear.

"There there..." smrithi tried to answer him.

"There's a body hanging!" Jyothsna told him. Alex and sunder ran towards the room and saw somebody hanging from the ceiling. They took a close look but realised it is not a body.

"You are mistaken girls. Let's search for samyuktha" alex said and walked forward. The door closed suddenly shocking him.

"Where will you go?" A group of voices asked them. All the four looked around and saw burnt people coming closer to them. They feared they are going to die but the dead stopped in their tracks shocking the four.

"No trespassing. Mother hates it" one of them spoke.

"Ma will come to punish you" another person said. They got worried but none of the dead moved for them to escape.

........

"Samyuktha where are you?" Gopal asked to nobody. He almost cried in annoyance for not seeing his daughter.

"Don't talk loudly. We don't know where the ghost is" suresh told him. Gopal felt his hopes getting crushed slowly. It is his sheer determination making him walk. He had nothing since morning and searching everywhere made him more tired than he was before.

Suresh looked in all rooms but found nothing. He stopped when they reached his sister's room. He felt himself taking deep breaths as he looked in the room. Gopal realising where he has come glanced at the room. He was about to leave his friend but something caught his attention.

He walked towards it and saw his picture with vinamra taken on the day he visited in the hospital. He pushed it under the book and walked out feeling guilty.

'Sure I have done something to have this punishment' gopal thought.

They walked looking in all rooms but found nothing.

........

Arjun looked around and realised he got lost. He saw sampath's flash far away. But he did not stop and walked forwards. He reached a store room and entered inside. He looked around. As he walked past a shelf he stopped as he noticed something odd about the half filled shelf. He used his flashlight and searched the shelf and saw her amongst the files.

"Eee..." samyuktha flashed her teeth to him. Her eyes looked like they are about to fall from the sockets. Her lips coated in dried blood made her look different. It is not samyuktha anymore but the crazy vinamra came to make their lives upside down.

"You win! Now let's play another game! " vinamra chimed which made Arjun to think twice about the ghost.

"Who will find sampath is the winner!" Vinamra said shocking him. Vinamra grinned and ran towards the corridor. Arjun too followed her fearing he kept his best friend in grave danger.
