33. encountering her

Dr. Vijay, the psychiatrist came to the house he was given address of. He left the car outside the gate. The watchman led him into the house which is silent. He saw two women sitting on the sofa, holding their breaths.

"I'm Dr. Vijay. And one of you must be rupa....samyuktha's mother" he asked. One of the women nodded their head. Vijay as a psychiatrist never mentioned the person he treats as a patient. He only refers them by name as he believes he is correcting the person not cure a disease.

"Do you want anything doctor? " rupa asked him.

"Just a glass of water"

Rupa called padma to get the water. Vijay relaxed on the sofa looking at the hall. Padma gave the water which he sipped casually. Rupa stood thinking she needs to lead the doctor to her room.

"I will check your daughter but I need to know why I was consulted" vijay spoke. Jyothi signaled her friend to sit down. Rupa sat in fear of reliving the bad moments again. She took a deep breath and started narrating about her daughter's behaviour after pooja's death. She removed about the ghost in her narration.

"It must be heart breaking to samyuktha to watch her friend die" vijay said. He then got up making assumptions about the girl's condition.

"Let me see her once" vijay said calmly. As gopal trained her a full day to take the doctor upto her daughter's room. She did it perfectly.

"What if anything happens to him?" Padma asked rupa.

"Stop scaring her padma" Jyothi scolded her. She muttered sorry.  Rupa who had the same doubt did not think rude of padma. But they were shocked seeing a set of hospital staff in the hall.

"The doctor has called us madam" one of the male nurse informed them. All the three woman stared at each other knowing what it means.....

Vijay knocked the door asking if he can enter the room. Vinamra gave him permission knowing who he was. Vijay opened the door slowly and saw vinamra applying a dark colour liquid to her lips. The liquid resembled like blood. Having a daughter he knew a bit about makeup. So the dark red colour dripping from her lips surprised him.

Vijay also noticed the half open wall without windows. He did not understand why the girl changed after her close friend's death.

"Come in doctor. Don't stand there" vinamra said. Vijay entered the room and noted the low temperature even though the bright sunlight is entering the room. Vinamra cleared her bed to give some space for the doctor. The sheet got stained with the dark red colour. So he sat at the end of the bed.

"How is your wife doctor?" vinamra asked him.

"Good"

"So how is your daughter? I guess she is also a doctor like you?" Vinamra asked. Vijay was surprised to hear the question.

"Yes she is also a doctor" he answered.

"Is your dead child a girl or a boy?" Vinamra asked him. Vijay got shocked.

"How did you know? " he asked her. She avoided his question.

"I bet you are still romancing with your wife in the hospital" she teased him. Vijay got up from the bed, unable to believe what he was just asked.

"Don't you remember me doctor?" Vinamra asked innocently with a pout. Vijay shook his head not wanting to believe what his mind is telling him.

The temperature is dropping very badly. Vijay noticed the wide eyed girl in front of him having a wide smile. It wasn't the blood dripping from her lips that scared him. It was her comment that is worrying him. Only one person in his life commented on him and that person is the reason he lost his child and nearly lost his wife.
