Chapter |25|: What do you mean?

"Where do you think you're going?" Was the first thing my mother said as I walked downstairs.

"With Blaire, Is that a problem?" I asked and my dad snickered a laugh behind his newspaper.

"You just got home and you're trying to leave? And with Blaire"

"And what's the matter with Blaire? You were best friends with her mother"

"Yes before she tried to sleep with my husband" She answered while giving my dad a look and he rolled his eyes.

"Let it go woman"

"You let it go Alex" She raised her voice and I used that as my excuse to walk out of the door where Blaire was already waiting.

"Mama drama?"

"Of course, she sends me off and then yells at me for leaving"

"Maybe she missed you" She said and I glared at her.

"Missed me? She wouldn't call me or make contact with me"

"The phone works both ways and besides she comes to support her daughter and here comes Maurice her daughters saviour"

"He's not my saviour, He helped me have fun during the internship that's all it was"

"Does he know that's all it was? Because I promise you when he finds out what you told me its done"

"I can't tell him that" I sighed. "He already thinks Zach takes everything from him"

I don't exactly say I have feelings for Zach. I don't, It's not that I haven't thought about it because I've thought about it but I know it's not right and I shouldn't think like that.

"Hey babe" Maurice said as he kissed my forehead. I smiled and looked at Blaire who looked the other direction trying to make it less awkward.

"Hey, What are you doing here?"

He raised an eyebrow. "Didn't you say we'd hang out today?"

"Oh, Yeah that's what I said"

"Hey" Blaire said extending her hand. "I'm Blaire, No don't compare me to Gossip Girl I get that a lot"

He laughed. "I don't know what that is but it's nice to meet you, You're the girl taking my girlfriend away from me" He joked and I looked up seeing Zach walking towards us and my face got hot.

"Okay now that we're acquainted we should really get going"

"Is that my teddy bear?!" I heard Zach yell and I grabbed Blaire and tried to walk away but Maurice grabbed me and gave me a weird look.

"We meet again, You know this calls for a picture, Faith where's your phone?"

"Gone"

They all looked at me confused and I made a fake laugh. "You know, I left it at home. We'll get it later no worries"

Blaire laughed. "You must be Zachary"

Zach face became straight. "No I'm Zach. No one gets to call me Zachary"

"I do" I butted in quietly.

"Okay one person"

"I do" Maurice laughed and Zach narrowed his eyes at him.

"Okay two people but you will not call me that"

Blaire raised an eyebrow. "Real catch"

"What?"

"Nothing she said nothing let's just go"

"Do you think Faith is acting weird?" I asked Zach who was busy checking out some woman.

"Define weird"

"Okay, She's distant, She keeps shouting random things to end conversations, She refuses to look either of us in the eye, Shall I continue?"

"Oh come on, Summers over and this is where our priorities take place, Maybe she's nervous. Scared"

"She has me.. If she's scared" I said obviously worried.

"Maybe she doesn't wanna go to her boyfriend for help"

"Want to"

He put his drink in the air then took a sip. "You're right, You're the perfect person to talk to"

"Maybe there's someone else"

He laughed. "Faith was a snob who didn't know what fun was until you came along, If you think she met someone else you're crazy. Meeting you wasn't even on her schedule"

"Neither was meeting you"

He looked at me and shook his head. "You're serious? I told you what happened with Hailey wasn't smart doesn't mean I'll do it again"

"I'm not saying you will.. I'm just worried.. She's like my first true girlfriend since. You know who, I can't mess this up too"

"And you won't, But you're like ruining my mood so I'd appreciate it if you'd" He shooed me away. "Get away from me, And tell that Blaire girl she's not on my side"

I rolled my eyes and went to faith who was whispering to her friend but stopped when she saw me coming.

"What's going on?"

"Nothing, I was Just discussing stuff it's fine" She panicked.

"Faith are you okay?"

"I'm fine, I'm just.. Deciding"

"What do you mean?"

"When you nod your head yes but you wanna say no" Zach sang out of nowhere and I ignored him.

"Faith"

"We should get home my mom's probably waiting for me"

"Faith I-"

She kissed my cheek. "Goodnight babe"

I watched her drag blaire out of the door as Zach slowly approached me.

"Well, If she is hiding something, Might be fun to figure out"

I glared at him and smacked the back of his head before walking away.

"You're rude!"
