Chapter |29|: All In My Head

"And that is what could happen if you don't cancel right now" Blaire explained after giving me a long very specific scenario of the double date. Yeah no we never left the house. I got cold feet and Blaire sat me down giving me a long talk telling me what will happen if I keep thinking with my hormones.

"I doubt Maurice would throw a bottle" I said being realistic and she put her hands up in defense.

"Hey you never know, You told me the story with Hailey. I think Zach's on thin ice already"

"Well I can't cancel, Maurice is really looking forward to this, If I cancel he'll think something is wrong"

"I call being obsessed with his best friend a problem"

I glared at her.

"But that's just me"

I groaned and leaned back in my bed while placing my hand on my forehead not knowing what to do. How could I possibly be more of a bad girlfriend?

"Hey, Betty bug. Don't be sad" Blarie cooed while sitting by me. "You're just emotionally confused. Like me when I dated Lukas. That Shit head ass hat son of a damn bitch"

I laughed. "Did you just use four curse words in one sentence?"

"See we're getting somewhere" She laughed while grabbing my phone as it rang. "Oh shit it's the intruder"

I furrowed my eyebrows before taking the phone seeing Zach calling. My eyes widened as I looked at Blarie.

"What do I do?!"

"Answer it!"

I answered it and quickly put the phone to my ear.

"Hey-"

"Stop, Faith are you crazy? Having feelings for me when first of all Maurice had my phone. You could've ruined both of us! This may be the first time I've yelled at you but I am very ticked to the way off"

I laughed. "What?"

"Maurice said I need to stop using foul language. But pay attention!"

"Zach I'm well aware with the conflicts of my decision and I want to do something about it, It's not like I can fight it"

"You can't love me Faith"

I laughed. "Love you? Zach I do not love you"

It was quiet for a while. A whole minute.

"Oh, Then what is it? Like?"

"No" I sighed.

"Uhm.. Oooo!" He yelled making me move the phone. "You're sexually attracted to me" He whispered.

"Why are you whispering and so what?"

"I am currently outside of Maurice's parents house"

"What? Why did you call me!?"

"I'm bored and just happened to hear the voicemails now do not change the subject. You wanna faddole me?" He asked and I knew he was wiggling his eyebrows.

"I don't know what that means, But if you must know I've had urges. It doesn't matter because nothing will happen. I am supposed to be a full on adult and if I am then I can't have any interaction with you"

"Eh" He dragged out. "Not even nudes?"

"Zach" I said sternly.

"How about sexting?"

"Zach"

"Phone sex?"

"Zach no"

"I can't even dream about it?"

I rolled my eyes. "No altercation of any kind"

"Well that's no fun baby cakes"

"Do not call me that"

"Baby doll?"

"No"

"Snicker doodle?"

"I said no"

"Lady bug?"

"No nicknames, No altercations and before you say it no flirting. We are what we were before. You can't just betray Maurice you know you care about him"

"Yes, I care about my best friend very deeply"

I sighed in relief. "Good"

"But I also care about you, And I care about helping others and as far as I'm concerned. We're not done here"

"Zach this is serious"

"Oh Maurice is coming, Bye Popsicle"

"Really? Popsicle"

"Yeah, So cold on the outside. But inside so delicious"

I blushed as he hung up. Blaire shook her head as her arms crossed.

"I feel bad for Maurice. You know what you have to do"

"Yeah and what is that?"

"Okay, For starters you call him back and tell him to fuck off"

"Did you not just hear me try?"

"Yeah, But I heard you not try hard enough. Almost like you wanted him to flirt with you"

"I do not stoop that low"

"Yeah and I didn't give it up to Lukas on the first date."

I gasped. "You did seriously?"

"I just said I didn't"

"That's not how that works"

"Yeah how about you be the last one to judge someone"

"Okay" I trailed. "What should I do?"

"Well. I think you should do the only logical option. Act like everything is how it use to be and completely ignore any inappropriate actions Zach does"

"And if Maurice become suspicious?"

She tapped her chin thinking. "Say, Wow you look so strong, Did you wake up like that?"

I laughed. "That will not work"

"Let's just wait and see"

I looked at her thinking about what to do. "Alright you're in charge."
