Chapter 24: Rey's Past

Luke's POV ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

I stood at the edge when the Millennium Falcon came in. Rey.
She was here. I do not know why. But it worries me. If Kylo Ren had succeeded then, then she is here to kill me.

I watched Rey exit the Falcon. She looked in pain, she was unarmed. She slowly limped her way up to me.

"Rey, you seemed troubled. Why are you here?" I asked her.

"Did you lie to me?"

"What?"

"You heard me, Luke, did you like to me about where I came from, who I was, what happened here, who left me on Jakku?"

I couldn't look at her but, I had to.

"Yes, Rey, I did. It was to protect you."

"Protect me? Luke tell me the truth.. all of it."

"I did not lie to you about your mother, nor the fact that I don't know who your father is. But once you were old enough Rey, to train, I became busy with the other students, that just allowed Ben to train you. Before I knew it, you two formed a. Inseparable bond. You both grew to care for each other. And when Ben turned, the only thing you worried about was him. But I pushed you along to where your mother was. The knights of Ren, they killed your mother, they were about to kill you when Kylo Ren stopped them. I wanted to fight for you but he already had made you sleep and started to take you to his ship. I ran. I thought you died. Rey. I lied to protect you from what you didn't need to know."

"What I didn't need to know? This whole time people are trying to prove to me that he is the monster. But no. You are.!" Tears fell down her face. Her hand shot up and my old lightsaber was pulled into her hands. She ignited it.
