Chapter Seventeen

We took our seats, I was in between my mom and Bee. When we ordered and our food came, we all started talking. My mom gotten to know Joe, Zack and Bee better. She even said things I didn't even know. It was probably one of the best nights I had with my mom.

When we were done, we thanked my mom and dropped off Joe and Zack. I said goodbye to Bee and headed inside.

"Thanks again mom" I said

"No problem sweetheart. I'm going to go get ready for bed since I have to be up early tomorrow" She said

"Night, love you" I said

"Night." She replied as she kissed my forehead and headed to her room. I grabbed my laptop and watch YouTube videos for a couple of hours until I heard a knock at my door. I looked at the time and it was almost midnight. Who's knocking at this hour?

"Who's there? Are you a criminal?" I said through the door

"Yes, I'm a murder. Open the door" I heard a familiar voice say. I open the door and it was Jordan

"What are you doing here?" I whispered/yelled

"Sorry, I just couldn't sleep. I really need to talk to you" He said

"Jordan, it's midnight-"

"Please?" He begged

"Okay, let's talk out here" I said putting on my shoes and walking out with him. We walked down to a park that wasn't to far from my house and sat on the swing set

"Look Liz, I am so sorry for how I acted" He started

"Why did you act like that?" I asked

"What?"

"Why did you act the way you did towards me?" I asked

"Last year, at my old school, I was bullied. Picked on by jerks who would beat me up everyday until I was coughing blood. I didn't want to be treated that way until highschool was over so I moved schools and changed myself completely. When this year started, when you started talking to me, I knew I liked you. Ryan and the guys also knew I liked you, so they told me to act that way. They gave me bullshit advice that I somehow believed. I guess I was desperate because I wanted you to like me back."

"How is acting like a douchebag going to make me like you back?" I asked

"Like I said, I was desperate." He laughed nervously "I realized long time ago that it wasn't working. But the guys said if I didn't act that way, they would tell everyone that I was a loser back at my old school..." He trailed off

We sat on the swing set for awhile. We were talked about anything. From stories from when we were kids to stupid and random questions.

"Can I ask you something Liz?" He asked

"Anything" I said

"Why don't you want to go to prom with me?" He asked

"I can't" I sighed

"Why?" He asked softly

"Why are you making such a big deal out of this?" I asked

"Because I want to go to prom with someone special." He said. It started to rain but we couldn't care less

"I can't go with you. I'm sorry" I replied "I'm already going with someone"
