Chapter 51 : Testing newly found freedom

Akame P.O.V

Akame: I might not approve what you do but...thank you for answering my questions.

Madara simply scoffed and walked in. I did the same. The rain was beginning to let up and the very scene of sun shining down from the tiny gaps in the clouds looked pretty.

But I soon snapped back to the reality. I was chasing after Sasuke when Madara had stopped me!

I searched the entire hideout but he was nowhere to be found. I decided to look for him outside...and there he was, along with Obito. They were talking...they looked so deep in conversation that it gave me a sense of panic.

Could it be that Madara had been stalling me so that Obito could talk to him privately without me overhearing?

Anger surged in me but I decided to calm down and think rationally. I hid my presence and tried to eavesdrop on their conversation.

Sasuke: He was crying back then...I thought I'd just imagined it...I couldn't figure out why. It looks like you were telling me the truth about Itachi's past.

Who was he talking about? His brother Itachi? What did Obito want to talk to Sasuke about without letting me know?

Obito: So? What will you do from now on? Will you take Itachi's eyes?

I froze in shock. Oh no...this was seriously bad! If they went to go back to Itachi's body now, they'll realize that Itachi isn't dead! Itachi's body was in a frozen comatose stage but...what would Sasuke do? What would Obito do?

But more importantly...what do I do?

Sasuke: No.

It was like Sasuke had doused me in a ray of hope. Oh heavens....these kind of surprises really are bad for the heart...

Sasuke: The things Itachi wanted to see and the things I am going to see will be different. I can't do what Itachi wanted me to do.

E-Eh? What is Sasuke going on about? I thought I knew Sasuke pretty well but...right now I feel as if I knew nothing about him...

Sasuke: I'll revive the Uchiha in my own way.

I sensed them walking towards the hideout so I quickly ran away and removed all hints that might make them realize that I overheard them...namely my muddy clothes and my crazed out expression. I quickly changed into a cleaner uniform and calmed myself down.

Obito: Ah, Akame...where were you?

He was pretending as if he never went out with Sasuke. Oh well...both of us can play that game.

Akame: Nothing...I was just talking with a certain ghost(a.k.a ghost of Uchiha - Madara). I was about to come searching for you guys.

Sasuke: Hn. Akame, it seems the other members of Team Hebi are here. I want you to join the meeting.

I entered the room cautiously. Inside the room were Karin, Suigetsu, Jugo, Kisame, Obito and Sasuke. Quite the turnout. It seems like this meeting is going to be very important...Please Sasuke...don't do something reckless...

Sasuke: From now on Karin, Jugo and Suigetsu will join my new Team Taka.

Karin: What about this sword bitch.

Wait...is she calling me a 'sword bitch'? I didn't quite know what to make of it and Sasuke was discussing an important matter. he wouldn't bother answering such stupid comments. Suigetsu simply snickered in response but other than that...we simply ignored her comment.
