Chapter 34 : Snake Hunting

Sasuke P.O.V

It's a surprise how fast time can fly when one has a goal to achieve. 4 long years had gone by in a flash. My Sharingan had developed quite a lot. My taijutsu has improved by leaps and bounds. I was also taller and physically more developed. 

I was 17 years old...almost an adult. One year less than the age Itachi was when he annihilated the entirety of the Uchiha clan. I could feel the change in the level of my ability. If father were still alive, I was quite certain that I could have beat him.

But...I was not the only one who had changed. Akame was now an 18 year old woman. Time had been a great friend of her's. She was now taller and had a more slender body. The level of her swordsmanship was at it's peak. She had trained to be able to effectively use all the three Imperial arms in a battle but she almost always used Murasame. She used Freezing blade and Adrameleh only if it was there was no other option.

So far I had managed to keep the promise I made to Akame. I was in no way dirtied by Orochimaru. I didn't turn evil nor did I partake in any of Orochimaru's criminal activities...well I did kill Orochimaru's experiments for training. But that was about it.

I could feel it. I had reached the limits of growing here. I wished to hurry up and leave. I knew that even if Akame didn't protest, this place disgusted her. Orochimaru kidnapped people on a regular basis and Kabuto experimented on them. They looked absolutely gross and the place reeked of death and despair. It was taking a toll on her personality. Her kind nature didn't change but she was always withdrawn. She wished to save those innocent kids who were being sacrificed but held back on it so that it doesn't affect my stay here.

I was standing outside Orochimaru's room. I could hear his raspy breath. Good. He was weakened. I proceeded to activate my Sharingan and go into the first stage of the cursed state. I created a charkra sword and pinned Orochimaru's hands to the walls without even opening the door. I took possession of his sword, kusanagi but I decided to stay loyal to my sword Raika.

 I was about to finish Orochimaru off but he escaped his human body and revealed his true body. It was a giant snake, which consisting of innumerable snakes. Orochimaru had experimented on himself and therefore always needed new body. 

He lunged for me but I sliced him to pieces. Akame's swordstyle might be one developed for women but it served me well. The swordstyle was smooth, sharp and agile. 

By now more snakes started emerging from Orochimaru's body. I activated the second stage of the curse. Orochimaru sent a bunch of his snakes at me. The snakes proceeded to wrap all around me but I quickly sliced them away with my second state wings.

Sasuke: Once upon a time, a snake wished to fly in the sky so it took a baby bird but...that baby bird turned out to be the reason for the snake's demise because the baby bird grew up to be a hawk.

Orochimaru got visibly furious and attacked again. I sliced his body into three. To be truthful, it was quite disappointing that the battle was over so quickly. I turned back and was about to go out, but I felt vision swerve for a moment.

Orochimaru's head had begun to regenerate. He proceeded to explain how it was easy to spread the snake venom into the air. It had already begun to paralyze my body. Then...everything around went dark.

I focused more chakra into my  Sharingan and my vision cleared. To my surprise I was in another dimension.  Orochimaru, was in his human form. I was surrounded by people who were all devoured by Orochimaru. Orochimaru had taken over their body using the body-possession jutsu and now, he intended to do the same to me.

I chuckled. It was surprising how completely unafraid I was. I was standing in front of a huge snake bent on devouring me and yet I was calm and composed. Akame was right. As long as you have power and the confidence to back it up, there is no need to worry about a battle.

I used my Sharingan to turn the tables on him. A huge snake devoured him and I took over Orochimaru's dimension.

I could feel Orochimaru's immense powers. it might be nothing next to the Uchiha's power but still...I now had the power that he had gained though all those years of research. Once I had absorbed Orochimaru along with his dimension, it was easy for me to return back to my own dimension.

Just as I came back, Kabuto entered the room. The scene of the room shocked him. He ended up dropping the tray of medicines. His face had confusion written all over it.

Kabuto: Orochimaru-sama? Sasuke? Which one is it?

Sasuke: Which one do you think it is?

He sank to the floor as he realized that I had killed off his master. I showed Kabuto exactly how I killed him using a genjutsu.

Kabuto: So? What do you intend to do next?

Ah...he thought I was going to kill him next but as much as I'd like to do just that, I couldn't do so. I promised Akame that I wouldn't kill those who have nothing to do with my revenge. Well...as it is, Kabuto will end up dead if he is not under the tutelage of someone powerful.

I decided to change out of my outfit and meet Akame. Them we could come back, pack our scrolls and set off on our journey to recruit members for my new team, Hebi and then proceed to fulfill the goal of my life...

Attaining my revenge upon Uchiha Itachi.
