Chapter 53 : Attack on uncertainties!

Akame P.O.V

Akame: Sasuke...

Sasuke: Hm?

Akame: Don't look so irritated. Even Karin feels afraid to come near you when you are like this.

Sasuke: So? It is in fact convenient that she is so far away from me.

Akame: Meaning you need some quiet time?

Sasuke simply ignored me and went back deep in thought. I gave a small sigh and walked back to my room. After making sure that no one was around, I unsealed my scroll. I looked through the contents : My limited outfits, senbons(which I hardly use), and...a few VERY important documents.

One of them was the letter from the ex-Hokage Sarutobi Hiruzen and the other...was from Muira Kokufu, the one who handled and got me assassination requests from Shimura Danzo. Both of these letters separately were insanely useful alone but...if I were to use them together...

I could even fulfil Sasuke's wish of killing the Konoha elders!

But right now wasn't the time to think about it. The atmosphere in hideout was horrible. You see, the one-time teleportation tag I had given Killer B had worked wonders and it turned out that the 'body' of Killer B that team Taka brought in was just a dummy...and they found that out the bad way. When the Akatsuki members activated their tailed beast sealing jutsu, the body of Killer B turned into a piece of the eight-tail's tentacle.

God...the look on Sasuke's face when he realized that he'd been duped by Killer B...

Well...long story short, Obito gave Sasuke a piece of his mind and Sasuke just bit his lip in frustration and let the insulting words wash over him. After that ordeal, Sasuke wanted Team Taka to leave Akatsuki but then realized that leaving now would look like he ran away just because he lost.

After all this...what do you think was the end result? 

Team Taka stayed put in the hideout while Obito resumed his search for the run-away eight tails jinchuriki since he deemed Team Taka to be 'too weak' to capture a jinchuriki. Sasuke was perpetually in a bad mood over the fact that he 'killed' his kind brother and the fact that he failed a major mission.

Sigh...just thinking over here isn't going to help any. Truth be told, I was clear on what I wanted to do but I wasn't sure on how to do it. 

Just when I thought that I had nothing to do for the moment, the ring on my finger glew to announce that a meeting was going to be held. I looked at the teal ring on my finger. It was too big on my finger and was the only accessory I wore on my finger except for the Imperial Arms  celestial devourer that was in the form of a pendant. I had gotten it from Obito after the death of Deidara...it meant that I took the deceased Akatsuki member's role...and that also meant that I had the privilege of attending the meetings. Team Taka, a temporary member of the Akatsuki didn't have this power.

Pein: I am sure you all know what this is about.

I looked around. The only members of Pein's Akatsuki left were Konan, Kisame, Zetsu, Tobi, me and Pein himself. The mortality rate really wasn't looking great.

Kisame: Have we found that 'kono yaro, baka yaro' guy? He really managed to make a baka out of team Taka. Woah! That actually rhymes! Baka and Taka!

Konan: Hush. That is not why we are here. The current location of the eight tails is unknown but we cannot delay the mission further. Thus...

Pein: Since we are unable to capture the eight tails with the current deficit in our human resources, we are going to proceed with the capture of the nine tails who can be found in Konohagakure. Since the nine tails is known for quite powerful and Konohagakure, in general, has gathered quite a few exemplary shinobis, I am going to go personally to capture it.
