Terrie's POV
I saw Tom speed walking back along the hallway after leading Delilah to the spare classroom, a huge grin on his face. Reaching me, he put one hand in his pocket and the other he ran through his dirty blonde hair, making it look effortlessly styled. Damn boys.
"Soooo, how'd it go?" I questioned him, bobbing up and down on my feet.
"Plan 'Get-Brody-To-Tell-Delilah-He-Loves-Her' is a go!" He was smiling ear to ear, yet his eyes still lacked their usual sparkle. It was heartbreaking.
We wandered off, arm in arm, chatting about useless crap until we met Amity at her locker. Tom's face brightened slightly at the sight of her, so I hung back and let them catch up before feeling my phone vibrate in my back jeans pocket. Sliding it out and giggling softly at my lock screen photo (Tom, Brody and I had made dumb faces for fun), I checked the text message. Wait, text MESSAGES. I felt so popular. One was from Cole suggesting we hang out again sometime soon but I ignored it at first to check the other message. It was from Jake. I had completely forgotten about the whole 'mentor' thingy I was supposedly signed up for. Oops. Jake had kept it short and sweet, just asking if it was cool to have the first session tomorrow afternoon. Mentally, I counted the days and figured that since tomorrow was a Thursday, it'd be okay to do that. I sent a quick reply agreeing to meet in the school library tomorrow afternoon.
Cole's text was a bit more mysterious. He was very vague about his intentions and just wanted to meet up this afternoon at the local café where he worked. Seeing no MAJOR issue with it, I thought 'why the heck not' and replied politely.
When I glanced up at my friends, I noticed their expressions. They were looking at me weirdly. I raised an eyebrow and checked my shirt and pants for any split anything. There was nothing.
"What?"Amity just flicked her black hair out of her eyes and shrugged. "You were making the oddest faces at your phone hun."
Ohhhhh.
"Well...shhhhh." Yeah, my comeback wasn't the greatest.
Tom just chuckled and threw his arms over both Ames' and my shoulders. "So my bitches, where are we headed now school is over?"
It wasn't technically over, but we had decided to ditch, no biggie.
"Well," I began, "Cole invited me to get coffee this arvo."
Tom frowned as Ames squealed in a pitch so high I think it was only meant for dogs.
"You have to go and then tell me all the goss tonight!" She screamed in my face. "I'm gonna come over to yours and so is Tommy babe and we shall have a sleepover and it'' be awesome!"
I thought it was best just to nod and smile at this stage so that's what I did. Tom smirked at me in all his attractiveness and I rolled my eyes at him.
"Great! Oh my gosh, we have to go buy food! See ya later Tez!"
Amity rushed off, dragging a helpless Tom behind her by the hand. I laughed then yelled after her, "You never call me Tez you spaz!"
