The TCT were fitting in nicely in the school environment. I think my year group was finding it a bit odd for all these new people to be starting at Montgomery High after the school year had already begun. But there were no complaints. Brody was an easy person to get along with and was fast friends with the entire year. And Peter, Ellie and Ashley had already made their mark. Easily demonstrating the ability to be on their respective sporting teams, they had improved both teams immensely, this being demonstrated by a win with the rugby team at an away game they had. A whole week had passed since the last mysterious call and the 'Cole' incident. I was happy to report that he hadn't showed up anywhere lately, luckily for my friends and I.

Brody had informed Jude and the TCT about him so they were aware of the other ghost floating around this space. Delilah and Tom were also told, their faces paling when they found out. I don’t think Ames and Oliver were big fans of being left out of all the sneaky secret conversations that were being held. I'd been seriously debating with myself about whether to tell Ames or not. I knew I could trust her with my life, I just didn't know how she would react.

She actually pulled me to the side on Tuesday, obviously sick of all the secrecy. Her long black hair was up in a high ponytail and she was wearing a light, baby blue summer dress with flats. Her eyes were sad, almost wistful. I felt instantly guilty for excluding her the past week and a half. Hating how much this was affecting my friendships, I willing went with her and made a split second decision to tell her the truth to any questions she asked.

"Terrie," She began with. Her voice was light and shaky, fragile. "Is everything okay between us?" Her expression seemed to be dreading the answer. I exhaled, feeling even more terrible.

"Yes Ames! Everything with us is perfect." I shot her a smile. "I'm sorry for all the secrecy lately. If you have any questions about anything, I promise I will answer them honestly, one hundred percent."

Ames gulped, not expecting my response. "Really?"

"Really, really."

Clearing her throat, she became more confident like the Ames I knew. "Alright then, what's all the secrets about? Spill everything!" I nodded and pulled her into an empty classroom. I couldn't have random people listening in and freaking the fuck out.

I explained the whole situation to her. Every last detail. Oh, except the freak outs and nightmares. That didn't need more people knowing. She listened adamantly and her face showed the classic shock and surprise expressions at all the right times. It was kind of amusing. When I'd finished, I waited for her to speak, to have some kind of reaction.

"So. Brody is a ghost. We are friends with a dead person."

"Yes."

"And the cute guy from Starbucks is actually some evil ghost out to get you for some reason."

"Yes."

"And your dead boyfriend is back making life difficult in the boy department." That was one way to put it.

"Yes."

"And Tom has feelings for you." She actually looked a little put out by that revelation. I felt for her, I couldn't help that Tom felt that way about me. I knew Ames and Tom would be good for each other, but timing couldn't be worse. Ames and Adam would be better off together.
