I KNOW IT'S BEEN FOREVER AGAIN SO SORRY. It is uni break, however I've had an assignment, plus social stuff plus study and it's been full on. I know this chapter doesn't really make up for it, but it's an update so :/

Anyway, my mood while writing this chapter was kind of dodgy, so excuse that if it comes through in the writing. Just got kind of bummed because of things. But regardless, hope you somewhat like it or whatever :)

RECAP:

"You didn't get the photo strip in time." My own voice broke slightly at the sight of his everlasting perfection.

Collecting me in a hug, he nodded. Far out he smelt so good. "I know. I saw everything. I know Kim's here too. This should be a fucking interesting week."

Pulling away, I rolled my eyes. "So not excited for the drama about to ensue." He kissed my forehead.

"BLASPHEMY! MY EYES! MY POOR EYES!"

Laughing, I whirled around and whacked Brody on the chest. "Shut up you douche. Not cool." He knew I was speaking about yesterday afternoon. Sobering up, he nodded grimly.

"I'm very aware. Bloody Yvonne." Because it was totally ALL her fault.

Shaking my head, I gave him a quick comforting hug. He was hurting too, even if he made the mistake. Then the question popped into my head.

"Why are you still here? Like, you told Del you love her, Jake, your bro, is a million times more confident now. So how come you're still around?"

Chapter 31

Brody's eyes widened, almost as if shocked I'd caught onto something. Folding his arms across his chest, he glanced away from me before meeting my eyes. He didn't even have to say anything for me to figure it out. He hadn't told me everything. There was one last thing he needed to do before moving on. And I really didn't like what my gut was telling me, what I deduced he had to do. Like, of all things, why did it have to be this? He could've just finished up and left to go to heaven or hell or wherever he was going to end up. A world of buffet food and puppies for all I knew. I knew that what he had to do wasn't going to just be hard for him. It was going to hurt me in the process. No wonder he'd prolonged it so far.

Catching on, I was quick to cut him off before he said anything. "Oh! It's okay, don't worry about it, it doesn't need to happen yet. You've helped with all the other ghosts and what not, so you can stay as long as you'd like!" I threw my arms out in an enthusiastic gesture, accidentally clipping Jude in the face. Apologetically, I grimaced as Jude rubbed his nose and turned back to Brody. The dimwit looked kind of confused for a few more moments before he finally caught on to what I was doing. You could literally see the lightbulb go off behind his eyes. Nodding curtly, he smiled sadly. "Sure thing Terrie. My lips are sealed."

Jude had removed his hand from his face and his blue eyes darted between the two of us. "Am I missing something?" He questioned innocently.

"Nah," I began, "Just secret Brody and me business is all." I winked at Jude, feeling my stomach sink when he snaked his arms around my waist, pulling me tightly to him.

Placing a soft kiss on my cheek, he groaned and whispered cheekily, "Okay, fine. I will find out sooner or later."

Oh, I know. I can't help that.

Displeased with the information I'd found out that morning, the rest of the day passed slowly by. It sucked. I was in a foul mood in each lesson and I didn't even have Yvonne around now to cheer me up. Seriously, she came for one day and then was gone again. Del wasn't in any of my classes before lunch and so I'd been bored out of my mind, thinking of nothing except what Brody's remaining task was. IFELAHUFDNKJAJDNHEAOMS why did it have to be that? I'd thought that part of our past was the past but apparently not. Apparently the ghost world wanted it to be common knowledge, even if it wasn't relevant. Well, not completely relevant in any case.
