Chapter 32

*Jai's P.O.V*
No. I didn't. I didn't kiss Holly back. Steph should know that! She knows I don't go for girls like Holly! I should have gone home with Steph when she left the camp site. She'll never talk to me again now. She'll never trust me. She opened up to me, after everything that happened in her past, and in her point of view, I've let her down. I haven't though. Ill be so happy if Steph takes me back. If not, then I guess ill respect her decision, no matter how much it hurts.
*Ding*
I fished my phone out of my pocket, to see I had a text, a text from Luke.
"Mate, where are you? Stephs here! X" when I read the text, I was too happy to reply. She was looking for me! In all the excitement that went through my body, I became oblivious, unaware of everything. As long as I got home to Steph. I ran across the road, to a face full of bright lights and pain.

Stephs P.O.V

After 3 hours of crying to Gina and Luke, I had finally calmed down. Luke had texted Jai an hour ago and he hasn't replied, and hasn't come home. I had a very weird feeling he was in trouble.
"I'm gunna go out and look for him." I said, standing up and putting on a pair of Jai's trainers on. I also borrowed a pair of his sweat pants, tucking Tims top into it.
"No, stay here. I'm sure Jai's fine." Luke said, standing up after me.
"Luke, I'm not staying here! I need time to think.." I lied, trying to get out of the house, alone.
"What is there to think about?" He asked me, shoving his hands in his pockets.
"Luke, just let her go." Gina said, folding up a top she just ironed.
"I have my phone on me. Bye" I said, walking out the door. As soon as I heard the door shut behind me, I ran... Again. I ran through all the streets and all the alley ways. There was one road left, but it was all blocked off by cones and Police caution tape. A rush of fear ran through me. Straight away, I thought of Jai. I stepped under the tape, my breathing getting faster.
"Excuse me Ma'am.. Please can you step out, on the other side of the tape please." A police warned me.
"Urm, what's happened?" I asked, walking towards the police officer.
"A car accident. Now please, step aside!" He said, guiding me to the tape. My eyes watered, as crazy thoughts ran through my head.
"Who was involved?" I asked, biting my lip, hoping it wasn't the answer I was looking for.
"Well, a young boy was crossing the road and the car hit him, and spun off the road into the ditch." He said, still guiding me backwards. No. Goosebumps rose to the surface of my skin and a tear escaped my eye. It was then, when my heart shattered. I saw Jai being lifted onto an ambulance, by some paramedics.
"Jai!! No!!" I shouted, running into the Police man, trying to push him out of the way.
"Miss please!" He said, grabbing hold of me.
"Get off!! I need to see him!!" I shouted, tears now falling rapidly down my face.
"No one is allowed past the tape or in the ambulance." He said calming, placing me on the other side of the tape.
"Fuck sake!! What hospital is it going to?" I asked, preparing myself to run again.
"St. James." He said, I didn't thank him. I just ran off. He doesn't deserve a thank you. The image of Jai lying helplessly on the hospital bed came to mind. The blood on his forehead, that seemed to pour out. The thought made me run quicker. I ran on the road, tears still leaking. A car swerved around the corner, braking hard and stopping afew centimetres away from me.
"Fucking ass hole!" I shouted, slapping the bonnet of the car. I was just about to start running again, when the car door opened and I heard someone say my name.
"Steph?" I looked towards the door and Beau was stood there.
"OMG beau!" I shouted running to the passenger side, climbing into the car and tapping on the dashboard. Beau climbed in quickly.
"What's up?!" He asked, quite loudly.
"Quick! Drive to st. James hospital!" I shouted, my taps on the dash board getting harder.
"Steph I didn't even hit you!" Beau said, pointing to the bonnet of his car.
"It's not me, beau! Just fucking drive!!" I shouted, and beau drive quickly through the streets and to the hospital.

"Excuse me, miss?" An old lady said, approaching me. I looked up, my tired eyes warding the lights off. I've been sat here for 7 hours now. It's 2 in the morning. Beau and everyone else left at 12. They said for me to stay, that way he'll be happy when he woke up. I wasn't planning on leaving anyway.
"Yes?" I asked, standing up. Jai was taken in to have an operation. No one told me what was wrong with him though.
"Mr. Brooks is ready now, but I have to have a chat with you first, take a seat." I did as I was told and she put her frail, white hand on my knee.
"Jai has had a very serious injury to the head," I had heard enough, as soon as she said 'serious' tears started spilling again, "He's peaceful now though, due to being in a coma. The bad news is though, there's a 50:50 chance of him waking up." I nodded, as she handed me a tissue to wipe everything up. I couldn't help but think this is all my fault.
"You ready?" She asked, standing up. I nodded and stood up with her. She guided me down the corridor. Then she stopped. She opened the door to her left, nodding her head, wishing me luck for when I went in. I nodded my head back and walked in. There he was. My beautiful boy friend, lying ever so still on the hospital bed. I walked over to him, sitting down on the chair next to the bed. I sighed and reached for Jai's hand. Beep beep beep beep.. The annoying sound of life support was the only sound filling the room. Well, until I opened my mouth.
"Hey Jai. How you feeling?" I spoke to him, knowing he could still hear me, "listen, I'm so sorry I kicked you out of my house. I was paranoid and couldn't stop thinking about Holly sucking Luke off. I was scared that I was losing you to a slut. But I know you wouldn't. I hate myself for ever thinking you would go with her. You make me happy, Jai and that's all I could ever ask of someone. And how do I repay you? But kicking you out of my house, leading you to this accident. I know you can hear me, so I want you to know.. I love you so much! And leaving you for 2 weeks was so hard, I was bored and lonely whilst you were gone. So please don't leave me. Stay here.. Come home and we can talk more about this... About us." I cried into my hands, knowing there seriously wasn't anything I could do. All I gotta do it pray and hope that I get to see those chocolate brown eyes again!
