Gwen's eyes were crusty from crying, she almost had to pry them open. She breathed in and out a few times before picking herself off the floor. Her backbone made a cracking noise as she stretched. Her body ached from sleeping on the hard floor all night.

She trudged to the bathroom and peeled off her clothes, wanting to wash away all the sorrow from last night. Soaking under the hot shower, she recollected her thoughts. Her goosebumps, all over her skin, washed away with the warm water. She closed her eyes. She had to focus, crying never helped. Anna was gone, Sandera too. She had to find the killer.

The silver lining was that she now had more proof that the killer exists, and more or less got the picture on how he kills. The purpose was still a blur. She had yet to figure out how the whole Neverland crap related to the murders. But she knew she would find a way unravel the mystery.

Though despite how sleek and undetectable the killer was, even he miscalculated once in a while. As of what happened to Sandera. But one thing is for sure... Gwen shuddered at the haunting thought.

The killer never leaves his job unfinished.

Gwen turned off the shower and toweled herself dry. She brushed her teeth then stared at the puffy red eyes. Unwilling to resort to concealer, she slipped on her grey hoodie to cover her swelling eyes. Sipping up a strong cup of coffee, she made her way to her work room to get her backpack before heading off to school. She swung the door open and as if by instinct her eyes landed on her pin board.

A loud crash resounded throughout the apartment. Broken pieces of ceramic were scattered around Gwen's feet, dark coffee staining the floor. Gwen's hands trembled. She stepped over her broken coffee mug that slipped from her hand and stood in front of the board.

Her mind did not want to process this information, but she knew she could not avoid the obvious answer. The pins were rearranged yet again to form a simple three word message.

I warned you.

Gwen's mind took no effort to pay attention in class; it was impossible after the recent events. As the lecture went on, her thoughts wandered. She now knew she could not deny that there was a serial killer on the loose. She speculated that he might have been watching her. He knew that she was getting warmer, closer to the truth, when Sandera escaped her planned death.

Her only lead was now dead. The mysterious killer had finished the job. Gwen could not help but think, would Sandera have survived if she did not delve into the mystery any further? Was it her fault, the innocent girl fell to her death? A death she escaped at first. Guilt swelled within Gwen.

However, she recalled the hazy explanation she received from the girl. Sandera was happy... to die? The girl felt the criminal was doing no wrong in forcing her into suicide. Unless he did not force her. Instead, brainwashed her!

What if he used a form of hypnosis, causing the girl to think she was being saved? To think she was given freedom from a stranger at her window.

Like the children from the fairytale.

It was all beginning to click now. But only one important bit did not match up. Peter Pan was supposed to bring children to the fantasy world of Neverland. A place of freedom, happiness and fun. Why was he killing them?

The bell resounded throughout the class, and students began rushing out of class, leaving Miss Andrews mid-sentence. Gwen shouldered her bag and made her way out of class. She headed for the one place; she might get some answers.

The library.
