Chapter 36
Kailah's POV
"Stop moping." Kim nagged for the hundredth time this week, giving me a pointed look as she stood at the foot of my bed, where I'm currently sprawled out on enjoying my slumber minutes ago. I swear if I hear those two words again, shit will hit the fan. I'm not exaggerating, but those literally are the first words I heard today. I just woke up- forcibly by the way- and I will combust due to lack of sleep.
Choosing to ignore her, I rolled on my stomach and buried my face in my pillow, lifting both ends to cover my ears from a certain redhead's voice.
I smiled into the pillow when complete and peaceful silence engulfed my room. This is what summer is all about. A committed relationship with my comfy bed. But I should've known it wouldn't last long enough for me to go back to dreamland. Kim always gets what she wants.
I didn't have the time to react as I felt my body roll over, leave my bed and thrown on my best friend of 5 feet height's shoulder in a matter of seconds. A sharp slap to my backside woke me up from my shocked, unmoving state.
"KIM! PUT ME DOWN, YOU MAD WOMAN!" I shrieked out as I wrapped my arms around her waist and held on for dear life. My long dark curls hanging down, blocking my face and sight.
"You haven't left this room for a week and I gave you a chance to quit moping around but you honestly gave me no choice, Purple." Kim scolded with a sigh while she started walking out of my haven, my room. "I know you miss lover boy, his sexy abs and his sticky spit but I will not let you wither away inside your room."
My retort died down in my throat because she was, again, right (Not the abs and spit part, though.) Kim always saw through me so it's no use denying it. If I was the same Kailah before I met Ian, I would have puked my guts out for missing the presence of a boy. But I'm not who I used to be. I met Ian, and I...fell in love. But maybe they should cut me some slack. Hello! Relationship inept here! I can't help it that not seeing Ian and receiving texts once in a while makes my chest hurt with longing!
What, should I jump around, flash everybody a toothy grin and say I'm fine?
Inconsiderate people. I sighed and let her manhandle me around. I'm just too tired and sleepy to fight back. Plus, we're dealing with my best friend here. Devil incarnate.
My head bobbed up and down as Kim proceeded down the stairs.
"Finally! I never thought I'd see my baby sister again. You've been hiding in that room for ages! The depressing fumes leaking through the door made it impossible to go near!" I heard my brother exaggeratingly exclaim and my hand itched to smack him upside his head.
"Shut up Jake or I will shove those 'depressing fumes' down your throat until you suffocate." I grumbled without lifting my head up to glare at him.
"Venny-"
"Venice, dude!" I scowled and heard Kim giggle. He made it sound like I was 5. Ugh!
"VENNY, if you don't stop moping this instant, I will hunt down your boy toy and beat the daylights out of him until he can't walk, talk, see, eat and hear. If this is what he does to you, I will make sure he can never use his peneyney to pee ever again. You're paler and haven't been under the sun for a week and I bet you don't even know who got eliminated in X Factor this week." Jake calmy stated, emphasizing his nickname for me.
