Extra Chapter: Hit me with your best shot!
Kim's POV
"Harder…Faster…Come on!" His dark brown eyes connected with my bright blue ones with an intensity that pushed me to go past my limit.
I panted and my lungs felt like it was ready to give up and shrivel away in exhaustion.
"Raise those legs, Kim!" His deep and thick voice held such un-ignorable command that it left me no choice but to follow.
Beads of sweat trickled down his temples as was my whole body. "I...I can't...any-anymore!" I breathed out with great effort as I continued lifting my legs in swift movements, alternately against the training pads he wore on his hands.
The successive loud thumps and his voice filled the modest gym room we were sparing in along with my ragged breathing.
"Yes, you can! Is this all you've got after 5 years?! My grandma can kick better than you and she uses a damn walker! Come on; hit me with your best shot!" Matt, my karate instructor spat out, resorting to provocation. The hell she can kick harder than me! F*ck to the no!
His words hitting straight home, I sucked in a long breath and held myself firmer. In one quick motion, I span around and hit the pads placed together in front of his face with the heel of my foot successfully sending his a*s on the mats.
A throaty groan echoed in the room, my audible pants joining in.
"That hard enough for you, grandma's boy?" I smirked at him and offered a hand.
"Yeah, says my aching a*s. Damn devil’s heel." He bit out with a groan as he peeled the pads off his hands, chucking it beside the stereo and grabbed my outstretched hand with one of his’. Ignoring the fuzzy tingles that shot up my arm, I pulled him up with a strong tug.
"Who told you to start comparing me to your grandma anywa-" The rest of the words got stuck in my throat as his face came dangerously close to my mine as he rose up. The second my nose hit his hard chest, every inch of my body tensed up. "If I hadn't, I wouldn't have been able to feel such a beautiful kick, Kim. So I'm glad I mentioned my grandma." He chuckled, making his chest rumble sending vibrations against my nose. The shudders were instant and served to only make me aware of the places where our bodies touched. I suddenly noticed the tips of our toes touching and my hand that was still attached to his'.
"Are you cold? Why don't you hit the showers and I'll drive you home." He stepped back, breaking every body contact we had.
I heaved out a breath that I was desperately holding onto. I knew that a whiff of his scent could no doubt send me down the mats in a blink and I didn't want that. I so didn't want him running the other way at my...wantonness.
Giving him a curt nod, I scurried out of the room and into the showers.
Stripping out of my sweat-drenched pink sports bra and black cycling shorts along with my underwear, I stepped under the warm spray of water. Slowly, my muscles started to relax from the strain it received from our sparring session.
I shook my head at how I reacted earlier. I thought I already got over him but clearly, my body thought otherwise what with the responses it had to his'. "You're in for a serious heartbreak after this, Kim. Stop before it hasn't worsened." I reminded myself but I knew it went through deaf ears. I guess I was one of those who jumps the gun, cries when it backfires and reloads after pigging on Ben and jerry's over The Notebook.
