Extra Chapter 3: Cupid to the rescue!
(This is after Ian sent Kailah home on their first date. Just a little extra bit for you to read (: )
Kailah's POV
The minute the front doors gave off a soft clicking sound, I span on my feet and smacked Jake upside his head.
"What the hell was that for?!" My brother bellowed out, his face irritated. Shooting him an equally irritated glare, I ignored him and stomped out of the hallway, with Kim and Garet following suit, quiet chuckles escaping their mouths. "You shouldn't really laugh, you idiots. You didn't exactly help earlier," I muttered, halting their snickers.
"Told you I'd give you the surprise of your life." Kim mimicked Ian's words, a dreamy and exaggerated sigh passing her lips. I stopped my way up the stairs and turned to them, a scowl on my face. "Love yo-" Garet started to tease too but cut himself off when my glare snapped to his face. I heard him gulp down his non-existent spit just as Kim busted out laughing, muttering chicken somewhere in between her cackles.
I bit my lip to stop my laughter and decided to continue up the stairs. I entered my room, quickly grabbing a fluffy towel, a set of clean underwear and my matching Betty Boop pajamas.
Two sets of footsteps sounded in my doorway just as the bathroom door shut close. I leaned against the door and let out a sigh of relief.
"You can't stay in there forever, Purple!" Kim hollered from outside followed by pounding on the door I was leaning against, startling the soul out of me. "Jesus!" I hissed under my breath.
Taking a few deep breaths to calm my racing heart, I walked across the bathroom and started filling up the tub with warm water. "I don't know what you're talking 'bout Nurps!" I replied though I did know what she meant. I silently groaned while I stripped and dipped in the tub.
My muscles slowly started to relax from the day's strain it took and the sigh passed my lips, instantaneously.
Ah...bliss.
After what seemed like hours soaked in the water which has now gone considerably cold, I emerged from the tub and dried myself off.
Taking my sweet time, I hummed as I dressed and actually tried to comb my hair to delay my impending death outside my safe haven.
"Are you possibly drowning in there, woman?!" My best friend asked, clearly annoyed at me. "Uh-huh! I'm drowning in probably the shallowest ocean in the world! Gosh, can't a girl have her bath time in peace in this house!"
A minute of silence followed after my reply and I held my breath.
Hearing nothing but the sound of the tub draining, I let my breath go and felt myself relax but I still felt nervous because even if I tried to avoid telling my naggy and nosy best friend about how my date went, I knew that spilling it all out was inevitable. Damn i-
BANG!
A VERY loud thump, probably not appropriate at this time of night, pounded on the door successfully scaring the shit out of me.
