Hey @cyclopsedinoman ! Here's why Ian didn't get a beating! LOL XDD

Chapter 24

Ian's POV

My head was still hurting but it was tolerable. I can't believe I got so possessive earlier. I hope Kailah didn't think anything of it . . . or am I hoping that it was the other way around? Do I want her to know about how I feel about her or . . . I let out a sigh.

We were heading out of Kailah's room and I noticed that her brother lagged behind, walking alongside me. Was he going to make me stay away from Kailah? Did he already notice that I like her siste-

"Thanks.", he suddenly spoke cutting off my thoughts. Huh? I was confused, I turned my head around to see if he was speaking to someone else but no one else was around. Kailah, Kim and Garet were already far ahead. I can't help but scrunch my eyebrows at him. He looked amused but then his features turned serious, facing forward as we were walking, "I heard from the facilitators." Ah. . The memory then flooded me making me clench my fists. "I'm sorry I wasn't able to come to her sooner.", I apologized. I'm actually still beating myself up for letting her go to the pond alone last night. I should've gone with her. I shouldn't have let her wait for me there. I should have refused Ms. Monroe's request. I should've ran faste- "No, don't apologize. It was not your fault. It's that kid's f*ckin' fault.", he sated, gritting his teeth. Then I heard him let out a sigh. He chuckled, "It should really be Venny's fault for being so good-looking. But I guess she just can't help it. It runs in the family.", he joked making the atmosphere lighter. I chuckled at that. Yeah, I thought. She is beautiful.

As Kailah and the others entered the cafeteria, I hissed in pain and I struggled to remain standing when Kailah's brother suddenly punched me in the gut. I grunted in pain. WTF?!?! I raised my head to glare at him and demand why the f*ck he did that and I got so pissed because he was smirking! WTH is his proble- "That's for that damn hug in her room, kid. Consider yourself damn lucky you only got that.", he stated it like I should even be grateful, then he went inside the cafeteria leaving me still dumbfounded. "So she really wasn't kidding about her brother sending the boys away.", I mumbled, still with my stomach hurting like a bitch. I winced when I tried to stand straight. DAMN! Was he a boxer or something?!

Kailah's POV

Seriously, I think I've cried enough. You might find it weird that I'm not so hung up about the accident but you see, I don't dwell in the past. What's done is done. Crying a river won't undo what happened.

Still think I'm not awesome?

When we entered the cafeteria for breakfast, I was confused because it was unusually quiet, considering that the room was jam-packed. I let out a sigh. I guess they already heard, huh? So much dram-

My thoughts were interrupted when loud squeals echoed around the room. OH SHIT! I forgot about that. I turned around to see my brother being surrounded by girls ogling him. And just look at the a*shole! He was enjoying the attention! Oh? Did I forget to mention how popular Jake is? Well, he was tall, taller than Ian by 3 inches I guess and according to Kim and my friends back home; Jake was hot and so handsome. . he could pass up as a hollywood star. I shuddered at the thought. His ego is big enough people! Stop feeding it or the world might actually end as it would fall from its orbit because of how big and heavy his ego would become!

I tsked at the scene. I looked at my bestfriend only to see her staring dreamy-eyed at my brother. Seriously? I don't see anything extraordinary about his appearance. He had the same hair color as mine, brown. .it's just that his hair was cropped. Our eyes were also identical, olive green. He was only wearing a black leather jacket, a plain white tee underneath, blue jeans and black converse. Pfft. Bad boy wannabe. So what's so catchy about that? I was about to call him when my body was sent to the ground. You don't need a genius to tell who the culprit was.

I laughed at Dylan's form. His body was above me and he was clinging to me like how a koala would to a tree branch. It was definitely a sight to see. "Hey, morning Dy-Dy!", I greeted, patting his head but he wouldn't look up. He just buried his face in my neck and he wouldn't talk. I was going to force his head up so that he was facing me when his weight was suddenly off me. I looked up to see Jake holding Dylan by the back of his shirt. "Jake! Put him down! You're choking him!", I ordered, my voice slightly raised. Jake was glaring at a struggling Dylan. "Jacob Cameron Lenon! Put him down or else I'll call Dad and tell him about 'that'!", I scolded him. I saw him flinch then release his hold on Dylan. Phew! Good thing I still had 'that' and it's a secret, people. HAHA!

He scowled at me. "Yeah? Go ahead, scowl at your baby sister! Do you want to have a repeat of my revenge during 4th grade?", I threatened as I crawled my way to Dylan's coughing form sitting on the floor. I heard Kim laugh. I smirked at his reaction. He looked scared for his life. .. That's what I thought. "Hey, Dylan. I'm sorry about my brother.", I apologized as I helped him up, moving him to our table, Garet, Kim, and Jake following suit. When all of us were seated, I finally noticed that one person was missing. Way to go Kailah. You just forgot about the person who saved you. "Where's Ian?", I asked no one in particular, voicing out my thoughts. "Wasn't he with you, Jake?", I turned to Jake who I caught smirking. Hmm? "What did you do, Jacob?", I asked him in a snippy tone. He quickly raised both his hands, the universal sign of surrender, "I didn't do anything unnecessary, I promise", he stated but I could tell that he was trying to control a laugh from spilling out. I glared and squinted my eyes at him ready to grill him some more when the cafeteria doors suddenly opened revealing Ian then it was followed by a series of squeals.

His face was twisted into a sour expression but when he looked at our table's direction and saw that I was looking, he immediately turned it into a strained smile. He took his sweet time approaching our table. He was walking at a very unusual speed. When he got near, "Are you alright?", I asked him. I noticed how his eyes darted to Jake and quickly back to me. That A*ss really did do something. "I'm fine. Uh, i-it's just m-my . . umm . . my head! Yeah, my hea-", he cut himself off. I felt guilt kick in and I guess it showed in my face, "No! It's not my head Kailah... I'm fine really!", he added, looking frantic. "I'm sorry for pushing you,", I apologized. Stupid bunk beds! "Why? What happened?", Kim asked. Garet also looked like he wanted to know what happened as well as the others.

I told them what happened this morning and they had different reactions. It was so funny I tell you. Kim was laughing, Garet was slamming his hand on the table continuously while he was also laughing, Rexine was giggling, Dylan was smirking (?), my brother was also smirking, and Ian was smiling. . .SMILING?!?!? Huh? Did he hit his head too hard? Why was he smiling? I know I've said this a lot of times and I won't get tired of saying it again, Weird.

Ian's POV

Kailah told them what happened this morning and I was not at all shocked at their reactions. Yeah, I figured that much. But I guess Kailah was shocked . . . at MY reaction. I chuckled internally (LOL). Yeah, I was smiling. Is it weird that I was smiling? You see, I don't care if they find what happened to me this morning, hilarious because all I know is that it was all worth it. I got to stay with Kailah the whole night, this bump is nothing.
