Chapter 35

Kailah's POV

Whoever said goodbyes are hard is wrong.

It isn't hard.

Describing it as hard doesn't cut it. It's not something that is generally defined as an adjective that portrays something concrete where you can grasp it inside your hand, no. I know, it's another meaning to the word but leave me be.

A goodbye is a freaking b*tch which makes a person swear like a sailor, see my point?

No, it isn't concrete like I've stated above, it's something abstract. It's a complex emotion where your heart breaks but not literally, that's why I said it was something abstract. A goodbye is a depressing, morose, merciless feeling that is heartbreak where you can't simply hold onto each ends and force it to reattach because your heart really did not split in two, it's something abstract.

And before I forget, it also makes the person seem like a broken record. They tend to repeat thoughts and words as you've already noticed.

So when the said goodbye finally occured, you could imagine the mess that a Kailah Venice Lenon created.

"Hey, I'll miss you Kailah. You were really cool." Rexine said as she proceeded on hugging me. The redhead having a bit of difficulty reaching my neck due to my height and her measly 5'2".

I stiffly stood there and patted her back awkwardly. "You I'll miss too, Rex." I winced when my voice came out hoarse, the structure error escaping my ears.

She let out a giggle as we drew apart which confused the hell out of me. Right after we parted, my body was sent sprawling on the ground. Good thing it was covered in lush grass then. Tackle-hug's the norm now anyway.

Looking up, sad, bright blue eyes connected with my green ones.

"Gets it never freaking old, huh Dy-Dy?" Another wince when my voice got hoarser by the second.

"Why'd you have to be stolen away by that huge pmsing dude?!" Dylan whined ignoring my dysfunctional mouth and almost suffocated me when he wound his arms around my neck in a very tight grip.

Raising an eyebrow up in confusion, I gave him an amused smirk. I never did understand some of the things that sprouted of the cute kid's mouth.

"You never don't me forget, oka-"

My senseless words got cut off when Dylan's lips smacked mine a nanosecond, sending both my eyebrows past my hairline.

I laid there frozen while the kid looked like a puppy who got his very first freaking treat.

Well, that is until he got dragged away by a very furious Ian.

A large hand above me obstructed my sight from further watching what ever was happening and I focused my eyes up and met with a grinning Garet, doing what an angel like him usually does, offering his hand to help me up.

"Angel you are really, Garet." I stated as I accepted the offer. I never was one who looks a gift horse in the mouth. Wincing for the third time when my voice cracked.
