The sun streamed through the window waking me up. I sat up in my bed and looked over at Remy's cage. He was sleeping in his bed which was hanging on the top level of his cage. I quickly had a shower and got dressed and headed out to the living room. Elise was sitting on the couch reading. I looked around the dorms. That was weird... The
"Good morning." she smiled.
"Good morning." I replied.
At around eight o' clock James, Elise, Sarah, and I all headed out to the cafeteria for some food. After that we decided to head to the Village. The village was about twenty minutes from the Academy. It was just to the south of the lake and a river from it connected to the lake.
"Where should we head to first?" I asked.
"How about... the book store!" Elise suggested.
"I knew you would say that." Sarah laughed.
We all headed to the book store (despite James complaint). The book store was an old store that was made of a stone bricks. It had one window in the front and was two stories tall. We headed inside. The inside of the book store was fantastic. The walls were lined with books and a fire place roared in the back.
"Hello!" Greeted a familiar voice. I turned around to find Alexander sitting at the check out.
"Alexander!" I smiled. I gave him a hug. Alexander was like family to me. After all we shared the same father (Ice himself).
"Excited for second year?" He asked us.
We all nodded.
"Here, let me go get you guys the books." Alexander said. He walked towards a section ladled educational and pulled out a bunch of books. Alexander walked back to the check out and said: "That'll be five silver coins each."
We paid at the till (after Elise bought three other books) and headed out to the street."Could we head to the pet store?" Asked Elise.
"Sure..." I said. "But why?"
"I need some food for Willow." She explained.
Willow was Elise's cat and lets just say, she had an attitude. Willow had white fur and bright blue eyes. We walked across the bridge to the other side of the village. The village had a river running through it that came from the lake at the Academy. We entered the pet store as a warm breeze blew the trees leaves to the ground.
The pet store was filled with screeches, meows, scampering, and weird croaks. The front room of the store was filled with food, cages, and toys. While Elise picked up some food I followed James and Sarah into the animal room. Some baby Warren toads croaked in a glass habitat and to there side were some lizards. The animal room had glass cqwzages on each side of the room filled with different creatures. James walked over to a habitat with a small chipmunk in it.
A lady with messy hair walked into the room briskly.
"I see you're looking at our very last chipmunk." The lady said."How much is it?" James asked.
"One gold coin and five silver." The lady smiled.
James pulled out a gold coin and five silver coins and handed them to the lady. The pulled out a cage and put the chipmunk in it.
"Can I interest you in a chipmunk habitat?" Asked the pet shop owner pulling out a tree with holes going through out. "Its on sale for five silver coins."
"Why not." Smiled James. The four of us headed out of the pet store and entered the school supplies store beside it. We bought all of our things including a new back pack, some pens, and some new binders. The four of us walked out of the store with James new companion and headed for the café. We sat down at our regular table by the window. The waitress walked over to our table and smiled.
"Can I interest you in our special, the maple coffee drink?" The waitress asked.
"Sure." I smiled.
The waitress walked away and came back a second later with our drinks.
"Thank you." James said
We sat and drank our drinks for about an hour then headed back to the dorms. When it reached five o' clock James and I headed out to get some pizza for everyone.
"Do you still like Sarah?" I asked on the way back.
"Yeah." He confirmed.
"Did you hear that Denen and her broke up?" I questioned.
"No." He said.
"Yeah." I smiled. "Apparently she likes either you or me."
As we passed the Water dorms Rose and Brennen came running up to us.
"What're you guys doing tonight?" Brennen asked us.
"Having a party, want to come?" James asked.
"Sure." Brennen smiled.
Rose, Brennen, James, and I all walked back to the Ice dorms. Brennen had invited Aira, Haley, Denen, and Ella. Everyone came for the party and soon everyone started to leave.
Ella was the last to go so I walked her outside. I needed to talk to her about something.
"I need to talk to you" I said nervously. I started walking with her into the forest to where the water fall was.
"Ok." Ella said.
"Last year." I started. "When I was about to... you followed me onto the roof. Why? I had just killed you best friend."
"Because Jaxon. No matter how many times we split up, I will always love you." She whispered like she was cursing a loved one.
We stopped underneath the willow tree hanging over the lake. "I love you Jaxon." Ella whispered.
"I love you to." I replied.
At the same time, like Ella was a mirror; we leaned in and kissed. I felt the chemistry I had felt the same time I was on the roof and Ella kissed me.
"Does this feel familiar to you?" asked Ella.
"Yeah." I smiled.
And we kissed again.
