We walked. No one speaks, only the sound of our feet crunching through the frozen snow. Snow fell lightly from the sky, cascading down the gray sky. I let out a breath as the sound of a river pierce the rhythmic sound of our steps.
"Can we take a break?" Aira asked. We had been walking for two hours now, nothing but the passing landscape entertaining us.
Walking into a clearing, we sit down on a fallen tree, a river, half frozen, roaring behind us. I felt my leg vibrate. Curiously I pull my phone from my pocket. Another vibration erupts from it.
"Bars..." I murmur under my breath. "We're near a town!"
I stood from the log and walk towards the river. The water freezes as my foot touches the cold water. I walked along the river, my powers freezing the water as I went. Breaking into a run I reached dry land and continued to run.
I climbed a hill and stopped and look over a small town.

We walked along the streets, one or two cars passing us every few minutes. They didn't pay any notice to the odd group of six walking along the ditch, and if they did, we didn't. The cold air nipped at my nose as we walked into an old mildew smelling City Office.
It was a small space. There were two doors on either side of desk, an old woman (probably a few hundred years old) sitting in the middle. Above it were the letters reading: Fort St. James City Hub.
Walking up to the desk I grabbed a small pamphlet and led the group outside.
We walked from the center of Fort St. James out towards the forest.
"Where's Darkness's domain?" I demanded.
John stopped for a second. "Russia." Everyone feel silent, the blanket of destress falling over us.
"How will we get across the Pacific?" Brenner questioned.
"Fly?"
"Boat?"
"I don't-" John was cut off. I flew from the ground, spiraling towards the ground. I pushed myself up the world spinning like a top.
The spinning stopped my vision focusing on a couple.
"Who and what are you?" The woman demanded."We-" John cut Aira off. "Who are you."
The females mouth moved very suddenly and sudddly.
"Duck!" John yells.
A blast of lights flies over us as we fall to course cemented road.
I blasted a wall of ice infront of us, but it crumbled as the male draws what I recognized as a Castorean staff. They were around 24 inches long, a gem the color of snow sticking from the top of itThe male pointed his Castorean Wand at us. "This is your last chance."
"Aira Flinch, 250th Air Member of the Gifted Six." She said stepping forward.
The world was blanketed with silence, the only sound the wavering of the trees.
"We're are very sorry for attacking. No where is safe right now." The female apologized.
"Follow us." The male motioned. "You may stay at our place for the night if you wish."
"Thank you." I smiled. "The Academy just north of here was just attacked by darkness and his forces."
The female and male turn to each other looks of concern. "Come on."
No one spoke for the walk to the house. Not even Aira who was usually quiet loud. We turned a corner and faced a house nestled by the rich forest. The house was red, with a dark roof, and only one story. Walking into the house the couple said: "It's nothing special, but its home."
"What's your names?" John asked.
"Drake." [Ss-i-el] The man smiled.
"Christin." The lady added.
"Thank you for your hospitality." Hailey thanked.
"Straight down the hall is your bedroom girls." Christin said. "And to the right is the boys."
I walked down the hall into a small room. The floor was covered in an old carpet with some stains and a small cot lay under the window, some old blankets spread over it. John, Brennen, and Denen walked into the room, the tension unbearable.
Walking from the room to go outside I stopped outside of Christin and Cyle's door as I heard the word darkness.
"If we hand them over we'll get paid lots!" Drake said.
"But we would be dishonouring-"
"I don't care about the king of Aragon."
"My sister's son is with him!"
"We'll negotiate his safety."
"Fine."
I pushed out a breath as the door opened. I flew into the wall before I could react. Rolling away from a blast of power.
Brennen, Denen, and John dashed from their room followed by Aira and Hailey. Lightning flew along with a flurry of snow from John and Brennen.
Christin and Drake flew from the door dodging every blast we sent. A shriek rang from the woods and yells echoed from the woods. "Run!" I ran from the hall way turning a corner, sending ice at a glass door. It shattered as I released the pressure of my fists. A small shed lay a few feet away.
"Go to the shed." John yelled.
Aira, Denen, Hailey, Brennen, and I ran from the door. John remained at the shattered door.
"John!" Aira cried, running forward, but I pushed her into the shed.
Wings beet over head as a dark object flew over a crack in the roof, casting shadows. I didn't breath as a Shadow passed in front of the stained window. The shadow dissipated. And then a roar rung out.
The shed collapsed as I scrambled from under it. I stood, about fifty eyes of Death-Hunters trained on me. Vines crawled from under the shed towards the Death Hunters and lifting the ruble off the shed.
The others joined. "Where's John?" Either Aira or Hailey asked.
The Death-Hunters cleared and there was John Ice curling from his fingers.
"You betrayed us?" I stammered.
"You are all dumber then I thought." Sneered John.
I realised my furry.
With a scream I sent blast after blast of Ice at John. He dodged easily erecting Ice around me. I shattered them, the glass like shards falling into the snow. The death hunters attacked the others screams erupting as Aira sent a gust blowing them all back.
I lifted my arms, raising the shards of Ice. My lips tugged upwards in a smile as I sent them pelting at John. Focusing on the tips of the shards I sharpened them until they were needles darting into John. Blood dribbled from Johns arms as he screamed in pain.
A roar erupted and a Night Crawler soared from the sky towards us, turning I watched it land a roar coming from it.
"Jaxon!"
The world went dark.
"Jaxon!"

Thank you for sticking around this book, even if it didn't get as big as the first, I am still extremely thank full.
If you were famous why would you be famous?
