I opened the envelope. Lifting the fold over and dumping its contents on my desk I felt a rock drop in my stomach; nervousness the culprit. I flipped through the comments and my lips draw upwards.

My report card was actually pretty good. Grades didn't effect my school life much though. As long as I did my job, making sure Darkness was killed, I was given as much money as I would need to make it through life. But that didn't mean that I didn't need a job for extra. According to what Elise babbled about it was enough money to get a small house and afford food and a car. I turned my attention away from my report card and focused on my homework completing the simple questions form History.

Rose and I walked down the path to the village trudging through the snow. It hadn't snowed for a while and the snow was slowly disappearing. As we passed where Ella had confirmed that she liked me last year I shuttered. She had gone form saying she loved me and kissing me on top of buildings to hating my guts. Girls are so confusing!

We entered the village and made are way down to the main street. The canal was frozen over. Kids skated along ducking under bridges and laughing. A chilly breeze blew from the north making the hair on Roses arms stand up.

"Here." I said taking off my sweater. Rose pulled on my sweater with a smile.

"Thank you." She said smiling. "But won't you be cold?"

"I don't get effected by it as much." I replied.

We continued on our way to the café and sat down at a couples seat. A waitress walked over her curling blonde hair bouncing up and down. "Hi what can I get for you two?" She questioned.

"I'll have the drink special and the snack special." I told the girl who must of been in the fifth year.

"I'll have a peppermint mocha and a candy cane brownie." Rose ordered.

A few minutes later the girl came back with our food and Rose and I talked and ate for about an hour. Soon it was four and Rose and I were walking out of the café. "Follow me." I told Rose. I took Rose's hand and lead her to the end of the canal. Walking onto the semi-circle platform I saw Roses jaw drop. The streamed joined part of a larger water fall pouring down into a larger river below. The sun seamed to touch the river, its bright reflection in the water. The sky was the color of fire. Reds, Oranges, and Yellows, mixing together like paint. Snow fell from the sky vibrant against the sky, making the world smell fresh and clean.

Seizing the opportunity I asked Rose a question: "Will you go to the dance with me?"

Rose's face lit up with a smile and blush. "Of course." She smiled.

We both leaned and kissed lightly like in a movie. With the water fall roaring behind us, the smell of snow in the air, and the feeling of Roses lips on mine I felt an invisible smile creep onto my face. I was at piece; finally.

I sat in the limo watching the school fade away. We entered the thick pine forest, snow resting on the green branches occasionally falling down in a flurry of white. A white stag bounded across the road peacefully, tendrils of white flying off of it disappearing into the cold, frosty air.

We crashed into the cliff and appeared on an non-maintained gravel road. Snow fell from the sky landing on the gravel road. A dear and its buck stood to the side hiding from something behind a tree. A few miles later four large wolves bounded out of the forest; one black and grey, another white, the third blonde, and the last brown.

About two and a half hours, awkwardly spent with Ella and I squished beside each other despite the large space of the limo, we reached Ella's house she dashed from the limo into her house closing the door behind her. We drove through the familiar neighborhood kids walking along the road laughing and talking. We pulled up to my grey house, snow resting atop its roof, with snow on our mail box. I opened the door grabbing Remy's cage.

Twenty feet.

Fifteen feet.

Ten feet.

5 feet.

I yanked open the door and shock hit me. The house was an earie quiet. Bubbles sounded in the kitchen. Curiously I crept into the kitchen tears brimming at my eyes how could my parents just not be here when I got home; complete shi- My thoughts were interrupted by my mom and dad popping up from behind the island yelling; "Surprise!"

The tears fell from my eyes, no longer of anger and sadness, but of happiness. "Mom! Dad!" I cried. I embraced them in a hug and let Remi out onto the cold granite top of the island. Embracing all of the emotions I looked around and noticed a tank of turtles. Two turtles swam along in the water. Remi jumped onto my shoulder interested in them immensely. [Authors Note: @R_Phoenix that should make you happy] I pulled my bag up the stairs after some conversation with my parents. Opening my door I stepped inside. My dark oak desk and my bed sat with layers of dust sitting on them. Snow fell outside of my windows, icicles dangling from the roof. A drop of water fell from the icicles falling onto the snow creating a dark spot. I was home. But is home where you don't have any friends and don't belong? The thought made me fall into a restless sleep my head spinning.
