It happened in a flash. I raised my hands and pushed the man. Ice blasted from my hands as he spiraled backwards. He seemingly paused in the air as we ran. Shots of magic flew at us, as I ducked behind a piece of ruble.
A blinding lights appeared in the stray of battle, shining like the silver moon. The lights disintegrated into bodies, mainly men with some woman, wearing white robes with markings on them. The army of dark figures charged at the white robed people. The white robed people raised their hands blasting various elements. Aira, Brennen, Denen, and Hailey, joined us.
"Where's Ella?!" I screamed, a blast of fire soaring above us.
"She-" Brennen was cut off by the female yelling.
I stood, Ella stood her leg trapped under some brick. "Ella!" I screamed running toward her. One of the Dark Solders pulled a sword from his hilt swinging it at me. Bending down I picked up a brick smashing it against the mans hands as he lifted his sword. The sword fell to the ground as I hit my shoulder against the mans bleach white face. The man fell back as I blasted Ice at his chest, sending him sliding along the ground.
Tearing myself away I froze the large part of the roof on Ella's leg. I exploded the block Ella standing sorely. "Duck!" She screamed. As my face met with the floor Fire soared over my head engulfing a man behind us, not from Ella but one of the White armoured people. Aira, Denen, Brennen, and Haley joined our sides.
"Who are these people!?" Screamed Aira.
"They're the Dark Followers, and these are the Guardians." Ella explained as Ice shot at us. Quickly I raised my hands deflecting it.
"Run!" Denen screamed. We ran from the cafeteria, through the hallway to the lobby. More Guardians fought against Dark Followers, weapons clanking. A Dark Follower stabbed a Guardian, crimson blood spilling from the wound, staining the white robes she whore. Another Guardian screamed: "Salia!" And rushed over to her body.
I blasted Ice at a Dark Follower charging at us, his body froze into a sculpture of crystal. "Where do we go?" Denen questioned.
"Follow me!" I cried as I dodged a blast of power from a Dark Follower. Brennen swept his hands engulfing the figure in lightning, a scream rang out as Ella kicked the electrocuted figure sending him falling to the ground. We ran through the midst of battle, dodging blasts of darkness, ice, fire, water, earth, air, and lightning.
Fire licked at the walls of the Academy, soon it would be destroyed. We ran over a upturned couch, Hailey tripping over it. Rushing over to her Dark Followers circled around us, laughing maliciously. Hailey raised her hands sending a blast of vines at a Follower. The vines wrapped around the figure snaking into his mouth like a cobra.
He attempted to scream as he fell back dead. Haley pushed her hands towards the ground, vines spreading from our feet towards each one of the Dark Followers. They wrapped around their feet as I froze the vines, the ice spreading along the Followers bodies. Hailey and I ran between the statues we had created, re-joining the group. We ran through the doors a man jumping on Brennen as we exited. Brennen created a bubble of water around himself, and his attacker, a area of air surrounding his head. The water splashed to the ground, The Follower going with the water. Brennen stood up, dry, the water not soaking his clothes and we continued to run. A even bigger battle went on in front of the school, people shooting magic.
People laid on the ground dead, all because of us six. We were supposed to protect, not destroy, we were supposed to destroy Darkness and protect others, but we were doing none of such things. A sudden madness flowed through me Ice spreading along the ground. My hands glowed light blue as I pointed them at each other, palms of the hands facing one another. A ball of light blue energy formed and I blasted it towards the ground. A dome of Icy energy exploded around us, engulfing anyone near us. People stood frozen like statues, both Light, both Dark. Dark figures appeared out of thin air, the remaining Guardians defending themselves. Two muscular mean ran at us, their eyes like daggers, golden like the sun.
Their bodies seamed to vibrate and their skin pealed away, a wolf standing in place. The large wolves ran at us, their jaws snapping. Their fur was wet with the blood of their human selves, crimson staining their black pelts.
"Run!" I screamed. The battle flew past us, the werewolves running after us. The forest engulfed us as we ran around the tree's. Dark Followers seamed to jump from the canopies of the pine trees blasting at us. Dark spirals flew past me as we ran, the snarl's of the werewolves behind us. I turned around sending a blast of Ice spiralling at a follower, a scream rang out as I turned forward. A river came into view, its choppy water sharp and loud. We stopped trapped on either side, the river was to wide to jump over.
Remembering that I could freeze things I pinched my hands at the river, the water freezing in place. We ran across the river. As we touched land the Dark Followers started across the frozen river. As a Dark Follower reached two thirds of the way to the other bank, fifteen others behind him, also on the Ice, I shattered it, sending them into the frigid choppy water. Ice pellets fell from the sky, lightning flashing in the sky. Thunder rolled as we continued to run the Followers growing behind us.
The green forest flew past us as we continued to run, we weren't safe yet, but were we ever really safe?
