Chapter 4: A Cocky Kiwi

When I woke up to my alarm excitement flooded through. Today  was the first day of classes. With everyone in Ice, I walked excitedly towards the school. I was never the best at normal school (nor this school) but learning about magical things is fun!

As I ate my breakfast Brennen, Haley, Denen, Aira, and Ella all walked over to us.

"Ready for training?" Haley asked.

"You bet." I smiled. I got up from the table and followed them to the training room.

Quickly I got changed in the change room and headed to the training room. The training room was just out side of the gym. It had training dummies, mats, fake weapons, and a pen that we'd be fighting in today. The room was outside but a glass roof sat above the things that couldn't get wet.

"Hello all off you." Soren greeted. Soren trained The six of us as well as anyone in Elemental Duels. He also taught Elemental Control. "Today we will be fighting each other using our powers and also physical." We all nodded. "I will be pulling two names from a hat, they will fight and who ever wins will go onto the next round on Wednesday. First up, Denen and Jaxon."

Lightning. I though to myself. Ice and Lighting were pretty equal, neither of them were to affective to each other... Denen and I stepped into the fighting square.

"Go!" Announced Soren.

The second Soren finished saying 'go' Denen sent a blast of lightning at me. Shock went through my arm. It felt like getting zapped on the trampoline but ten times worse. Ice sent a blast of Ice towards Denen it hit him in the chest sending him falling back to the ground. While Denen was on the ground I froze his legs to the ground. He sat up and put his hands to the Ice. It shattered a second later with a zap. I rolled out of the way as he sent a blast of lightning at me.

He charged towards me and kicked me in the chest sending me falling to the ground. I kicked him in the chest sending him stepping backwards. Quickly, I went to stand up but Denen grabbed my arms. He closed his eyes and I felt my hole body being electrocuted. I twitched un controllably but I knew that he had just done something stupid. I concentrated on freezing my body. The lightning stopped going through me as Ice spread to Denen. Before he could do any thing I swept him of his feet and held him down for five seconds.

"Jaxon wins!" Soren declared. Next it was Ella against Haley, Ella won. Then Aira and Brennen faced off and Aira won.

The next class I had was Elemental Spells. As I walked towards the class I met up with James and Sarah who had both come from math. The reason I did not have to do normal classes was because I had to train.

As we entered the class room we sat down in our normal desks. James and Sarah in the back and Elise and I in the front. Mrs. Diana entered from her office and stood in front of us.

"Welcome again." She smiled. "Before we begin anything I'm going to tell you all about what you'll be learning this year." The four of us nodded. "This year you will be learning how to summon your spirit animal to help you in duels, you will also being learning some things such as what a spirit animal is and why you have a certain ice emblem."

We started our lesson by trying to find our spirit animal. Of course Elise and I already knew our spirit animals, me because I was one of the most powerful Elementals in the world, Elise because she... was Elise.

After Elemental Controls we had lunch then Elemental Control. Elemental Control was probably my favourite class. I headed up the stairs and to the class room saying goodbye to Denen and Aira. Once I entered the class room curiosity struck at me. There was five desks, and in the fifth was a boy.
