I woke up ready to start the day. I put on my cutest school uniform outfit- the blue plaid jumper over a white button down with a headband that matched the jumper and a pearl necklace. I looked perfect for the auditions after school today. I curled my hair- loosely. Like I always did and applied sparing amounts of make up. I went downstairs and ate breakfast (scrambled eggs) and kept my mom company while she struggled to feed Nicky. I grabbed lunch money out of the jar in the kitchen and ran back upstairs to brush my teeth and do a once-over in the mirror. I re-applied a layer of lipgloss for good measure and ran back downstairs.

"I'm leaving for the bus mom!" I yelled, opening the front door.

"Have fun at school. And good luck finding an assistant. Calm me fifteen minutes before you need to be picked up! Love you. And don't forget about your debate team meeting!" She called out.

"Will do! Love you too! Bye!" I said, closing the front door and making my way down the street. I may have just told my mom that I would forget about an impetus to meeting... Oh well. I took my phone out and scrolled through Instagram. They only thing that caught my attention was a post on Katie's page that I was tagged in from last night. I commented two blue hearts and out my phone back in my bag. I waited till the bus pulled up and I climbed on and went to my usual spot next to Katie on the left side, the row with the emergency exit. I sat down and smiled.

"Hey, your house was so much fun last night." Zack said.

"Thanks!" I smiled.

"It really was." Katie agreed.

"Awe you guys are the best." I smiled. Zack was peeking over the back of his seat and Katie was slumped in her spot, scrolling through her phone.

"Are you excited for the interviews after school?" Zack asked me.

"Yes, but I'm super nervous that no one will try out."

"You shouldn't be nervous. I've heard of at least six kids in the class are trying out. Rumor has it that there's still more." Katie said, not taking her eyes off her phone. I nodded and made a "Hmpf" sound in favor of what Katie had just said. The bus stopped gain and Lawrence tumbled onto the bus.

"Hi guys." He said.

"Hi." We all said back.

"Summer I had so much fun at your house last night! We should do it again sometime."

"Oh trust me, we will." I laughed. Lawrence Zack and I got into a deep conversation about the most unhealthiest fast food place, not that any of us were allowed to eat at any of these places. Katie made a few side comments, but her parents were way more lenient than our were and she got to eat these places all the time. She never likes it when we talked about how unhealthy it was, she always said that it:

"Ruined the good food for her"

She just stayed mostly out of the conversation and kept scrolling. We pulled up to the school in a matter of minutes. I scrambled off the bus and kept pace with my friends as our conversation shifted to new songs for the band to play this year. As we walked into the school, I looked around for Ben. He wasn't here yet, he must get driven to school, I kept my eyes searching when someone joined our group. Freddy.

"Hey guys." He said, wedging himself in between Zack and Katie.

"Hi Freddy! How was detention?" Lawrence asked.

"It sucked. What about your guys night."

"We had a lot of fun at Summer's." Lawrence said. I made a signal for him to stop talking because Freddy wasn't invited.
