Summer

Thursday, one day till Ben's birthday party; after school at the mall

Tomika still hadn't gotten a gift for Ben's birthday. So after school on Thursday, Katie's mom offered to drive us to the mall. We stopped at Katie's house to change first. I put on a white peplum top with dark wash-high waisted jeans. Tomika was wearing a black tank top with white shorts and a black and red flannel over her shoulders. Katie was wearing black legging and burgundy and white striped cotton crop top. Once we were ready, we went downstairs and got in Katie's mom's SUV. Katie sat in the front seat and Tomika and I in the back. On the way there we jammed and sang Taylor Swift at the top of our lungs.

Katie's mom dropped us off at the mall's main entrance, I think I heard her let out a sigh of relief when we got out of the car. We ran into the mall. I inhaled the stale mall air. I love this place.

"So, where to first?" Katie squealed.

"To a place to get a Ben a gift." Tomika said,

"Right, right. Well, you do that while Summer and I shop..." Katie said, starting to walk away.
Tomika grabbed her collar.

"Not so fast." She said. Katie frowned and re-joined us.

"So what are you even getting him?" I asked.

"I'm not sure... What did you guys get him?"

"I got him a set of new guitar picks from a place recommended by Zack and then I got him a special edition copy of his favorite movie." I smiled.

"Ooh, that's fancy. What did you get him Katie?"

"Well I just got him a gift card to Target and some candy. You can never go wrong with candy."

We all laughed.

"So, what should I get him?"

"I don't know!" I said.

"Ok, you know what. I'm just gonna get him new wheels for his skateboard. You can never go wrong with me wheels."

"That's sounds like a good plan..." I said. Tomika nodded and we made our way to the shop to get new wheels. After we did that, we were able to shop around. My main goal for the day was to try and find a pre-homecoming dress.

"Ok, now that we've got Tomika's gift, I don't know about you guys... But I want to find a dress for the pre-homecoming dress." Katie said.

"Me too..." I said.

"Fine... Where do you guys want to look for one first?"

"I don't know.... How about Sugar and Spice?" I requested. (A/N I hope the Sugar and Spice is a fake store... in my book it is just a dress store with a cheesy name)

Ok, I like that store. Let's go there." Tomika said.

I walked inside and inhaled the sweet, and well spicy aroma. I instantly felt drawn to a plum purple dress.

It was a halter neck, and the bodice was very unnoticable lace with little gems all over it. It made it look like fairy lights. The skirt was tulle and pouffed out the slightest bit. I was a good price, so I tried it on. But it was too short. So I looked around for another one when I heard Katie's voice.

"My mom's gonna pick us up in an hour!" She called out. I ran through the forest of dresses to find her voice. She was standing outside a changing room.

"Where's Tomika?" I asked.
