After parking the car, Claire and I headed for our lockers. As we finally placed our bags inside the locker, Niall came and gave Claire a peck on the lips, making me wince. "Hey babe" Claire says with joy while giggling. "Hi. Took you long enough to get here." Niall says. "Why? Can't resist my lips?" Claire says teasingly. Niall pulls her closer to him and says, "Feisty are we?" He says with a smirk.
I try to avoid my gaze towards them, and Claire seems to notice. "See, you're making her uncomfortable. You know what, let's just go to class." She says, making me turn my gaze back to them. Niall gave me an awkward smile and I just smiled back a him. Soon we headed to class, me leading the way because I do not want to be third wheeling again. I walked inside the class and headed to my desk. I notice that Harry has moved seats next to Brittany at the back of the class. They seem to be laughing about something, as usual. I'm not sure how I feel about it. My feelings seem to be a mixture of hurt, anger, and curiosity.
I soon realized that I had made a big mistake looking at them, because soon Harry's eyes made contact with mines and it felt like time has stopped. The contact was soon broken as he looked back to Brittany who was talking about something, and I could sense him giving me a side glare and a smirk. I turned to stop looking at them, and try to feel unaffected by his action.
As Claire and Niall walked inside the class, Niall went to sit on the table beside me, next to a dirty blonde haired guy. I think his name is Charles, I know it seems rude to not remember your own classmates names, but I rarely talk to a lot of people in my level. Claire, as usual, went to sit next to me smiling widely.
First lesson is History, and most of the students aren't even paying much attention to the lesson. As I tried to pretend to listen to what the teacher is saying, Claire passed me a folded note. As I receive it from her hands, it took a while for me to open it because Claire always folds her notes until it couldn't be folded any longer. Sometimes I couldn't even open the note, or even if I tried it would rip. But this time I carefully unfolded the paper and read the message, I'm so boooreeeddd. Are you serious you're not coming to the party tomorrow? Tbh, I'm more excited for the 'sleepover' part.
I wanted to tell Claire that I might be going to Louis's party, but that would be hard to explain. So instead, I wrote We could still have the sleepover. I'm actually planning to go to someone else's party. A friend of mines. This is going to be hard to explain. I'll talk about it at break time. I folded the note once and gave it to Claire. She raised an eyebrow at me after she read the note.
"Passing notes, are we?" Our teacher suddenly says, making Claire gasp and hide the note under her desk. The teacher headed over to our table and stood in front of Claire's desk, while giving out a hand. "Hehe, hi?"Claire says. "Pass it over Ms. Heron." Claire cringed. Both of us never understood why teachers would call students by their last name. I heard chuckles coming from the table beside us. I looked over and see Niall trying to hold back his laughter. While readjusting his glasses, he reads the note. "I love History" He reads and the whole class laughed. Niall seems to have stop chuckling and I know Claire was giving him a smirk. Claire then looked to me, and gave me a wink. I was looking at her with shock.
The teacher then cleared his throat, "Alright settle down please! Claire and Rosaline, according to the rules you would need to go to the detention room, but..um...for this I'll give you an exception." Claire and I highfived each other under the table.
*break time*
Claire and I headed out of class to go towards the canteen. We went to sit on a table where our two friends, Fay and Claude, were sitting and enjoying their meal. "Hey guys!" Claire says cheerfully. "Well hello there, history lovers." Fay says sarcastically. Claire and I giggled. "Hey, at least we didn't get in much trouble. You try getting out of that situation." Claire points out. Suddenly I realize something, "How did you even find the time to write 'I Love History!' and manage to fold it up a bunch of times?" I ask. She grins while trying to do an imitation of zipping her mouth, "A magician never reveals her secrets."
I fake pout, "Not even to her best friend?" I say, trying to make that 'puppy eye' expression. She grins again while shaking her head, "Not even."
"By the way, where is Monett? I spotted her this morning." Claire says, looking around the cafeteria. "Oh she says she went to hang with that new girl, Brittany. They seem to be getting along fine, they really love talking about makeup and stuff. That's why we both decided to not join them. Besides..who knows? Maybe she could be a new member of our squad." Claude says, making me feel something uncomfortable. "Umm...have any of you guys talked to her?" I ask nonchalantly. "Yeah of course. She is quite funny when you get to know her. And she says she has a lot of the bestselling novels, and she would let me borrow them. Can you believe that?" Claude says, while Fay rolls her eyes sarcastically. "Forget that. She always tells cool, interesting stuff about her life like her holidays and her old school. Her family must be very rich. If only I could be her sister."
"Well, I haven't talked to her yet. Maybe I'll try to get to know her tomorrow." Claire says. "She says she has these collections of designer stuff. You and her would definitely have something in common." Fay says, making Claire's jaw drop. I just stood there. I'm really not sure how I feel about Brittany. "Oh and Rosaline, she says she has these nice hair products and stuff. Maybe it'll stop you from complaining about your hair." Claude says, but I just give a small smile and say, "Ooh...maybe I will get to know her tomorrow."
