Yesterday felt like a dream. But I knew it wasn't and guilt flushes through me. Maybe I shouldn't have left my friends. Now it'll be super awkward. I need to go to that party; I need to clear my head.
I got up and walk downstairs, grabbing my car keys and the bag of clothes I prepared. "Where you going?" Shay asks. "Shay...tell Mom and Dad I'm going to have a sleepover at Claire's."
"Oh ok. Louis just texted me yesterday if me and you are going to some sort of party?"
"Sssh!! Okay...yeah I'm actually going to his party. But..I don't want mom and dad to know."
"Ah, I see. Being a rebel now are we?" Shay says, smirking. "Please Shay don't say anything."
"Wait...he invited us. Aren't I coming too?" She asks. I groan. "Fiineee. Just, pack some clothes and we go. Ask Mom and Dad first." I say, opening the door. "Okay." She says, rushing to her room excitedly. I wait for her in the car. After a few minutes she goes inside my car and checks herself in the rearview mirror.
"Have you asked mom and dad?" I ask. "Yep! They said they were planning to have their own night today anyways." She says, giggling. I smiled. Glad they are having their own plans for tonight. "Why do you look like such a mess? You look like you just gotten out of bed." Shay says, making me sigh.
"Alright, jeez lazypants. Anyways, I'm inviting Brad. Need someone to take me home in the morning since I assume...you'd be with Claire for awhile?"
I nod.
Soon we arrived and we knocked on Claire's door. Claire opened it and her eyes widened. "Oh! You're coming! Or...are you here to just...grab the dress you left?" She asks, standing awkwardly. "I'm going to Louis' party, along with Shay. If you don't mind." I say.
"Oh, that's fine. It's great actually. Um..come on in" She says. Ronnie was eating a bag of microwave popcorn and stopped as he looked at us. I looked to Claire. "Does he know?"
"Huh? Oh. Yeah. Of course he does. Right, Ronnie?" She asks him, giving a wink. Ronnie shook his head. "You owe me big time if mom and dad finds out." He says, but Claire just giggles.
"Anyways...we better get ready now. You guys came so late. I almost thought you weren't coming, you know...after yesteday." Claire says, trying her best to sound nonchalant. We then followed her to her room. "Oh. Shay? You brought any party clothes?" Claire asks. I knew she was trying her best to not make things awkward.
"Of course. What is up with you guys? You guys seem...different." Shay says, proving how awkward we are right now. Claire and I looked at each other for a moment, but I soon replied, "What are you talking about? Let's just go get ready for this party already.". The three of us changed and did our hair and makeup and all that stuff.
We were ready to go out until a knock came. Ronnie came in holding a phone. "Yeah, Mom. She is here." Ronnie says, handing the phone to Claire.
"Hi Mom! Oh wow. Must be late there. Miss you already! Yeah. Love you too mom!" Claire says. The phone was then given back to Ronnie. I could tell Ronnie was staring at us for a moment. Claire soon caught him, and Ronnie did that 'you're dead' sign where you look like you're cutting your neck.
I looked at my reflection to the mirror, feeling very underdressed. "Hey, Claire? Do you have a cardigan or something?"
"Oh, yeah sure, why?" Claire says, heading over to her closet to find her cardigan. She stopped while she was about to hand it to me, "Wait...you're not deciding on using it right?"
"No, just for the ride there. It's pretty cold." I lie. She handed the cardigan to me and I put it on. Not really helping how I feel right now, but this will do. "We should go now. We are 5 minutes late." Shay says. "Right. Want me to drive you guys first?" Claire offers. I wanted to shake my head so bad, not taking the chance to happen to see Harry. But Shay shook her head for me. "That's alright. We don't want you to be more late."
