Coronation

JAKE'S POV

I'm being shaken and I hear screaming. I need to see what's happening but it dark. I'm panicking. Someone pry's my eyes open but I can't see anything. Everything's white. They let go of my eyes and everything goes dark again. I listen harder and I realize the screaming is Mercy. I need to see her and I need to touch her. This is torture. Can I just open my eyes? Please? I'm so lost. What happened? Why can't I remember? I feel a shocking pain jolt through my body. I'm still not moving, I can't see, and I'm not...breathing? But yet I'm not dead? I can hear that's good or I don't know what I'd do. I felt another stinging jolt go though me. I let out a sigh but nothing more nothing less. I'm trying to focus on what Mercy's saying. I'm concentrating so hard I want to scream. Then I hear it. She's calling my name. She's telling me to wake up. I'm unconscious that's for sure. With one more jolt of pain I squint. I see a faint light. I blink hard then go back to squinting. My vision is clearing up. My senses are going back to normal. My eyes still burn so I don't open them all the way. I see Mercy arched over me with her hands firmly pressed on my chest. As me senses are coming back so is the feeling. I'm in excruciating pain and if that wasn't enough my whole entire body is asleep with that 'pens and needles' feeling. I let out a loud groan and Mercy looked at me. She pulled me up and wrapped her arms around my neck. I wrapped my arms around her but then quickly pulled away. She was cut and bruised in a couple of places but nothing serious. I looked down at myself ands aw that my shirt was ripped open and I wasn't in good shape. I had cuts and bruises everywhere. Mercy thinks I broke a couple things and she can tell about these things. I looked around at my surroundings. I saw the general helping a buried soldier. There was fire everywhere and remains of the tower scattered. Then I remembered what happened. I looked down again and saw that from the waist down I was buried under a big chunk of metal. I realized I couldn't even fell my legs. I should be in agonizing pain. The world started to be blurry from afar. I looked at Mercy again. She had a guilty look on her face as she realized what I was thinking.

"What did you do?" I asked shocked. She wouldn't. I was trying to save her from the ground not the tower. She should be injured badly. I realized she had blood on her face and the cuts and bruises I had seen before had healed.

"I'm sorry I had too" A tear rolled down her cheek. I was getting dizzier by the minute.

"What did you give to me?" I asked a little louder. I'm furious.

"It's numbing your whole body" She said quietly. It got really dark and I could barely see.

"What...did...you...do" I yelled grabbing her shoulders.

"I'm sorry. You'll feel better soon" She stroked my cheek with the back of her hand and I passed out.

How cold she betray me like that? She drank from me to heal herself then gave me medicine to numb my body knowing that it could kill me!!!

Time skip

"Jake?" I opened my eyes to see Mercy hunched over me and looking into my eyes. I lifted my hands and put them on her shoulders. She started leaning forward hoping to get a kiss but I pushed her away.

"How could you do that?" I yelled. Before she could say anything the general walked over to us.

"Jake I see your awake" He said and I just nodded. I hear you know a witch who could help cure everyone. I nodded again. A soldier came up to him with a wheelchair and the general took it from him.

"Lead the way then" He said motioning to the chair. I was now only numbed from the waist down. I scooted up from where I was and grabbed the arms. Mercy had come over to the side and was about to put her hands on me to help when I shot her a glare telling her that I didn't need her help. She backed away with a hurt expression on her face. I lifted myself up and sat in the chair with a 'thud' and grabbed the wheels. I started pushing myself over to the exit when the general grabbed the chair.
