The Dinner

MERCY'S POV
I went up stairs and grabbed the bags. I went down and put them in the car. Jake opened the door for me and I sat in the front passenger seat. He got in the back with the bags. The driver had a navy blue coat on and white gloves. He had navy pants to match and black dress shoes. We kept driving forward and a dark red portal appeared in front of us. We drove in it and ended up in the underworld. I'm back home. We drove down a foggy dark road until I saw a candle lit cottage. Jake opened the door for me and I got out. The driver led me into the cottage but Jake didn't follow. He stood by the door as if keeping watch.

"Alright princess" He said. "It's time to get dressed" He pulled out a black velvet box with a deep purple bow on it. "Compliments of the king" He added.

"Thank you" I said and went to the next room. I opened the box and saw a dark red silk dress. I pulled it on. It had diamonds at the top and fit my curves perfectly. I pulled on a black jacket and left the cottage. We went behind the cottage to a swamp. They hopped into a small boat. Jake grabbed my waist and I put my hands on his shoulder. He hoisted me down and once I got into the boat I was automatically uneasy. Nobody talked through the whole trip so far. We reached the other side of the swamp and the guys got out first. Jake held out his hand but I held up my hand.

"I'm fine" I said and leaped out. He didn't say anything but he looked disappointed. We got into a limo and I got in the back and Jake got into the front. We got to the village. We got half way through when I noticed something.

"STOP!" I yelled and it screeched to a halt.

"What's wrong?" Jake said but I ignored him and jumped out of the car. I ran up to a house and pounded on the door. A little girl with curly brown hair answered the door. Her eyes opened wide and she looked frightened.

"It's ok. Where's your parents?" I asked.

"They have not returned" She said quietly.

"Come with me quick. I'll help you" I said and rushed her.

"What if they return?" She asked.

"They will find you" I said and held out my hand. "Come" She grabbed my hand and I led her to the limo.

"What do you think your doing?" Jake asked.

"Shhh" I hissed and put her in the limo. I got in after her and shut the door. She had bright golden eyes. She's part of the rebèl. They'll kill her. I knew her parents.

"Why did you bring one of them" The driver hissed.

"Do not question me. Drive" I said. He grunted and kept going. I can feel myself getting stronger.

"What's your name?" I asked.

"Celeste" She said. I smiled.

"You have a pretty name" I said. She's the one I need. We arrived at the palace and Jake opened the door for me.

"Princess" I heard I familiar voice. I turned around.

"Red!!!" I ran up to him and wrapped my arms around his neck. He pulled me into a tight embrace.

"Hell Boy" Jake said with a glare.

"Hey Jake" He said. "So what is it about this girl?"

"You know why" I said.

"Yes I do but what do you plan on doing with her? You know we can keep her forever."

"We'll keep her as long as we can" With that he left. I grabbed Celeste's hand and walked into the castle.

"Wow you live in a big mansion" She said admiring the huge place.

"Let me show you to your room" I said.

"Ok" She said. She sure has a bubbly attitude. I showed her to a room with a purple door. I opened the door revealing a purple and black room.

"It's so pretty" She yelled and ran over and jumped on the bed.

"I'm glad you like it" I said and sat beside her. "You can live here with me"

"But my parents" Her eyes started tearing up.

"They're dead" I said with a frown.

"What?"

"They died trying to help me" She started to cry. I held her in my lap.

"Shhh don't think of it as living with a stranger. Think of it like living with a friend. There in a better place" I said.

"A friend?" She asked and I nodded. "Best friends" She yelled.

"Yeah" I said and she gave me a cheeky smile.

"Remember my rooms right there ok? Go there if you need anything and if I'm not there go back to your room or just stay in mine"

"Ok"

"Were going to a party tonight"

"A party YAY" she squealed.

"Yeah I'll bring you a pretty dress" I said and left. I went to my room and changed into my dress for the engagement dinner. I brought Celeste a dark green velvet dress.

"Here we have to put these in your eyes" I said. She nodded and I put blue contacts in her eyes.  I gave her light makeup and put her curly hair up.

"Ready?" I asked. She nodded excitedly. Now I'm going to officially get engaged.

KAZUMA'S POV

I went over the plan one more time with cupid then I left for the dinner. When I got there I think the whole kingdom was there and people from other kingdoms. I saw Jake up on the royal pedestal standing beside a man in a dark cloak who was sitting at the throne. There was an empty throne beside him. Mercy's. I stood in the middle of the crowd. Everyone fell silent. I looked upon there gaze and saw Mercy holding a little girls hand. She couldn't have had a child it hasn't been long enough. Who is that girl? Mercy was as beautiful as ever. Then out of nowhere someone started clapping followed by another then another until everyone was clapping. Mercy held up her hand and everyone fell silent and bowed. She walked over to the empty throne and sat there.

"Continue" A booming voice sliced through the air. Everyone started chattering again.

MERCY'S POV
Now it was time for the engagement announcement. Me and my father stood up and he took my hand. Jake stood beside me. My father cleared his throat and everyone fell silent once again.

"I have an announcement" He said. "I have given this man here permission to marry my daughter. So I am here today to announce they're engagement." Everyone clapped and cheered. The rest of the time we sat at the throne and received gifts. My father left after his speech. Afterwards we stood beside the door and bid everyone goodbye. After everyone left me and Celeste went to her room

KAZUMA'S POV
"Ah Kazuma I see you decided to witness my engagement" I heard someone say after Mercy and the girl left. I turned around and saw Jake.

"Why are you marrying her?" I yelled.

"Because she's my fiance and I love her. She loves me too you know?" He smirked. I hate him.

"But she's my girlfriend"

"She was your girlfriend and now she's my fiance"

"Wait what did you do to convince her?" Black smoke appeared in front of me. I saw me jumping in front of Mercy and saving her and I died.

"Is this what you showed her? She thinks I'm dead?" He nodded.

"Yes and yes" He said. I stood there shocked. She thinks I'm dead?

"Why?" I asked.

"Because I want her Kazuma and I can't have her if your in the way. She loves both of us but I can tell she loves me more. She just needs help figuring that out" He said. "Now I need to go to my fiance" He turned and walked towards the door but then stopped and looked at me.

"She can't see or hear you anymore. Don't even try or I will kill you. Like I said I love her and you can't change that" He said and left. I should get back now and figure out the next plan.
