Chapter 69

Gray shut the door behind him. He let the tears fall one by one "why?" He said to himself shaking "WHY!!" He screamed throwing his things around messing his whole room up. He stopped he grabbed the liquor from the bed stand falling to his knees crying. He hit is head on the wall as he stared at the hotel ceiling as he drank some liquor burning his throat the tears falling, he softly began to sing

"I've been staring at the hotel ceiling, drinking everything I found this evening, trying to hold on to the sweetest feeling, so Ill never let you go, don't you leave me lonely."

Gray then dug his head in his arms and began to cry. His bottle falling out of his hands on to the floor smashing on the wooden floor into a million pieces just like his heart.

A few weeks have past Erza and gray didn't see each other for a while. Erza was busy with Jellal preparing everything that was going to be needed for the wedding but not one day past were Erza didn't think about Gray and what had happened it had hurt her as well. Gray just came out of his house when he had his concert or practice or an interview but other wise he would stay in his house locked up drinking. Affecting himself even more that he already was. He sat there holding his bottle head on the counter. He got up turning up the tv. He heard a knock on door. Gray groaned "go away I'm not in the mood" gray called out he didn't hear anything maybe they left. He placed his head back down. He then heard another knock he groaned and got up. He then opened the door his eyes widen it was Jellal. "Jellal?" Gray said "uh hey I um came to talk to you" he said. "Oh uh come right in" gray said. He stepped inside and Jellal walked in. Jellal looked around he saw bottles, mostly it clean but it felt so sad the atmosphere. Jellal sat on the couch. "Wow it's been a while since we've been like this" Jellal said "oh yeah huh ever since.. The accident" gray said. Things got quiet between them. "So um what brings you here?" Gray said. "Um well Erza wanted me to give you this" Jellal said he reach in his pocket and handed him an big envelope but looked away. Gray grabbed it and opened it. Taking something out it was an Invitation.

"You're invite to Jellal Fernandez and Erza Scarlet wedding! Hope to see you there!"

Gray read and read it over and over. "Wow this is really happening" gray said trying not to cry right then. "Yeah I know.." Jellal said he looked down he felt bad. "I umm I can't take this" gray said placing the invitation back into the envelope and handing it to Jellal. "What? Why?" Jellal said. "It's a nice gesture really but.. I can't go.. I just think I shouldn't be there" gray said "but I know it would mean a lot to Erza if you were there" Jellal said. "I know, but my present there would only hurt her and it would only hurt you, I would ruin everything" Gray said. "But I- "Trust me Jellal it's better if I don't go" gray said. Jellal looked down "I understand.." He said. "But um congratulations! I'm um really happy for both of y'all" gray smiled weakly. "Gray there is something I would really like to talk to you about.." Jellal said. "Yeah sure go on ?" Gray said "Gray are you really okay with me marrying Erza?" Jellal said "of course! Why would I be? Haha I'm so happy for y'all!" Gray said. "I didn't think having bottles of alcohol laying around and staying all day in the house were part of happy" Jellal said looking at gray in the eyes. Gray looked down " you don't have to lie, I see it your eyes.." Jellal said. Gray sat down. "Of course I'm not happy.. Would you be if you saw the woman you loved getting married to another man.." Gray said. "But.. Just cause I'm not happy about it doesn't mean I'm going to ruin it for her. She happy with you, she loves you, this has always been her dream to get married to some one she loves after all she's been through the pain she has gone through and sadness don't you think she deserves it? And for me to try to take that all away from her wouldn't that be selfish? Seeing that beautiful smile of her and her eyes filled with light that's all I want for her is happiness and I know she can find that in you. If you're asking if it's going to hurt, it sure as hell will but that's what love is isn't it? putting the person you love before you and that's what I'm going to do. She deserves all the happiness in the world I want her to be happy. She's finally going to be happy and that's all that matters to me seeing the person I love happy, makes me happy.  gray said. Jellal looked at him "you're ... A strong man gray.." Jellal said. Gray sadly smiled "I don't think so.. But Jellal before you marry her please let me ask you a favor.." Gray said "whatever you want" Jellal said. "treat her right... When she's feeling down, make her feel happy, buy her a cheese cake trust me her face will light up with joy. When she feels like shit and is having insecurities because trust me she has many she thinks she's not good enough when in reality she's is please make her feel beautiful make her see her true Beauty. Some days she will be stressed out and mad be patient with her comb her hair she likes it, it calms her down. There will be days when she will cry and try to lock herself up because a horrible tragedy that has happened to her please don't leave her alone don't give her space hug her and hold her don't let her go wipe her tears away let her know you are there for her. Don't Ignore her, don't treat her like she's nothing get to know her, get her to open up to you learn her story trust me it's interesting you'll just be amazed and wonder how she is still strong after all but most of all please love her.. Love her with all your heart" gray said. Jellal was trying not to cry "I promise.. I promise I will.." Jellal said "thank you Jellal .. I know she'll be in safe hands.." Gray said. "I have to go now I have to give the rest of these but what do I tell Erza?" Jellal said "just make something up there her Im going to be really busy that day with preparing for a show but tell her I wish her the best" gray said "okay I will and I do promise you gray I will take care of her I assure you..." Jellal said walking out the door "I know you will ..." Gray said

Erza was done with mostly everything. That's when the door opened and exhausted Jellal came in. "Your back! Did you give all already?" Erza said. "Yeah except this one.." Jellal said handing it to Erza. Erza read the name "Gray". "Gray?" Erza said Jellal nodded "Was he not there or what? you can try tomorrow" Erza said trying to hand it back to Jellal but he didn't take it "no Erza he was there he just didn't accept it.. He said to tell you congratulations he wishes you the best but that he can't make it he is going to be really busy that day with preparing for one of his shows" Jellal said "but he has to go! I'm going to call him!" Erza said "Erza wait I don't think that's a good idea he might be sleeping or something it's really late" Jellal said. Erza dialed gray number he didn't pick up. She kept calling and calling but no answer "I don't understand he's not answering" Erza said "I'm telling you Erza he's probably sleeping give it a rest we'll try tomorrow" Jellal said  "okay.." Erza said getting down "hey come on cheer up I'm sure he'll come" Jellal said hugging her "yeah maybe you're right" Erza said laying her head on him.

Gray looked at his phone 5 missed calls from Erza. He signed turning off his phone "I'm sorry Erza, it's for the best.."
