Chapter 56

Erza woke up from her bed her head was hurting. She grabbed her head rubbing it softly and she got up putting her slippers on and walking to the kitchen she heard snores. She turned and saw it was Gray. She then remember what had happen last night she had picked him up drunk and he had freaked out and when they arrived here he had her in tears. She then remember what happen afterwards.

"I just wish we could have been happy that's all I ever wanted to be with you" Erza said and the tears began to fall. Gray wiped her tears away and lifted her chin he looked at her and she looked at him and his eyes went to her lips they were so tempting and he couldn't hold himself back any longer and he lean in. He had gotten so close to her lips when Erza looked away. "No Gray, I told you I'm with Jellal and I told you before what we had is now in the past" Erza said looking away. Gray had understood and distant himself. "I know" gray said. They had stayed there until Erza spoke up "it's late I think it's time to go to sleep goodnight Gray" Erza said. "Night Erza" gray said.

Erza had admitted she too had been drinking before all that had happen but somehow she was good enough to remember everything. She signed she checked her phone and saw 3 missed calls from Natsu. She had called him last night to get Gray but he wouldn't answer and maybe he had called her once he saw the missed calls. Erza heard a grunt and turned. "Ughh my head" gray said. He opened his eyes and freaked out "where am I?" Gray said. "In my house" Erza said as she bend down to pick up the shattered plate on the floor she had left last night. "What? How did I - ugh my head" gray said grabbing it even more. "You got drunk at lucky bar, the bartender called me since you had me on speed dial and I had no choice but to come for you" Erza said. "Really? Nothing else happened right?" Gray said. Erza stayed quieted wondering if she should tell him or not about that moment they had last night "no" Erza said. "Oh" gray said there it was again that awkwardness that gap between them he hated it but he knew she had her reasons for it "I'm sorry I caused you so much trouble gosh I'm pathetic" gray said. "It's okay stuff happens" Erza said and handed him an aspirin and glass of water. "Thank you" gray said as he took it and drank the water he looked around it had been a long time since he been here and it just felt like it was just yesterday he was here it felt like home so many memories roamed in this apartment. "Your apartment it hasn't changed it remains the same as it use to be" Gray said trying to start a conversation. "Mm yeah I spend most of my time at work or with Jellal I never have the time to redecorate it" Erza said. "Oh I see" gray said just the though of Erza being with Jellal made him cringe. "Gray what happen to you" Erza said. "What do you mean?" Gray said now puzzled. "When we got on the elevator you freaked out bad and you began to yell and you looked awful" Erza said. "I-I honestly don't know.. Ever since the day I left magnolia it's been happening but only when I get on the elevator it's like a memory my brain wants to remember but I can't seem to remember .." Gray said. "What do you think it is?" Erza said. "I'm not sure.. But sometimes I do remember it all but the next day I forget all about what I remember, I'm not really sure but I think it has something to do with the tiny scar on my forehead" gray said lifting his bangs up to show Erza. "Wow I never really noticed that scar" Erza said. "Well I do always keep my hair down so I guess that's why but I don't know how it got there and I don't know why that happens but I have to reach my mom maybe she knows but she won't be back for a while" gray said. "Mm well whatever it is I hope you are able to find out what it is" Erza said. "Thanks and again I'm really sorry about all this" Gray said. "It's alright" Erza said. Gray phone began to ring he looked at it 50 missed calls for Liz. "Fuck" gray said he picked it up "umm hey" gray said "WHERE THE HELL ARE YOU!!" Liz screamed. Gray pulled the phone away from his ear immediately he waited till she was calmed and he began to talk to her "I know, I know, I should of told you, look I'll explain everything when I go okay? Yes I'll be sharp. No I won't get lost. Okay!! Bye!" Gray said he hung up. "I swear she acts like my mother ugh" gray said Erza chuckled a little. Gray smiled he missed seeing her like that. "Well thanks for everything Erza I should probably go now" Gray said. "Okay bye" Erza said. Gray was about to head out the door when he stopped "um I'm sorry but I don't know where the 5 star hotel is at..." Gray said. "Let me get my coat" Erza said. They walked out the room. As Erza locked the room Gray looked at where he use to live it was still empty "wow no one else has came to live here?" Gray said "not since you left" Erza replied. "I see.." Gray said. "Gray boy is that you?" A voice said Gray turned it was the old lady "it is you!" The elderly woman said as she walked to Gray. Gray smiled she hugged him "it's been such a long time" she said "indeed it has" gray said "I'm sorry I never caught toe name though" gray said "it's Annie" she said "oh well nice to see you again Annie!" Gray said. The old lady looked at both of them "it's good to see the two of y'all together like This again" the old lady said "aah no we are just making peace" gray said. "yeah" Erza said. "Oh I see well I'm glad" the old lady said. "Well we must get going by ms Annie" Erza said walking away already "yeah by ms Annie" Gray said. About to turn when she Called out to him "Gray boy" she said. Gray turned "give her time" the old lady said. Gray softly smile and turned back. Erza walked with him. Gray hesitated as they stop by the opened elevator. Erza walked in and gray stayed out. "Erza I.. I don't know maybe I should take the stairs I'll meet you Dow- "nonsense don't worry I'm here" Erza said. Gray looked at her and she looked at him he took a deep breath and stepped in. The elevator closed behind them as they rode down by now gray would have panicked but he wasn't. He looked at Erza who was busy looking at her shoes. Maybe it was being with her he felt at ease he felt better all his worries would go away one by one. Erza looked up to catch him staring. He quickly looked away. Although his worries were gone the awkwardness remained there. The elevator opened. They walk out. "Good morning Erza ho- Gray?" The front office lady said she turn to erza and then to gray it had shocked her almost everyone was use to seeing Erza and Gray together but than they stopped seeing them together and now seeing them was really strange. "Hey Margret" gray said "wow its been a year since I saw y'all both together again really strange!" She joked "oh um we aren't together" Gray said "what? Than how come a year ago y'all were holding hands?" The lady said. "We use to date" gray said "but not anymore" Erza added. "Oh im so sorry.." The lady said "its okay it was nice seeing you" gray said "nice seeing you too don't forget to much about us Gray since you're famous" Margret said "I won't" gray softly smiled. They walked down the sidewalk they couldn't even walk a little without fan girls coming and asking for an autograph. Erza got pushed away so many times it was starting to get on her nerves she began walking away.

When a whole lot of girls began coming surrounding him. That's when gray ran out and he looked for erza he spotted her and grabbed her hand running away. "Run!" Gray said and erza ran with him she turned and saw all the girls coming after them. "Why did I agree to walk you!" Erza yelled. They ran and ran until they hid in a near by opening and catch their breath. "I'm so sorry" gray said breathing hard "wow never met a bunch of girls like those wow they must all do track" erza said Erza looked around "crap we are all the way in the central its going to take us forever to reach your hotel" erza said "then we better get to walking" gray said. They started walking some more. There was silence, and awkwardness. Gray was thinking of something to say erza was nervous "so you never did tell me how jellal and you met" gray said. "I didn't? Hmm it's really been a while since I talked about how I meet jellal maybe he knows how we meet better than I spend years trying to forget our memories that I guess with time I really did forget them" erza said "really sorry about that, do you at least remember some of it? " gray asked. "I think so but when jellal gets back I'll ask him I'll tell you some of what I know, well I remember Jellal and I meet in
A restaurant" erza said she began talking gray noticed she blushed a bit and smiled once a while it hit him like a truck he stopped walking. "you're falling" Gray said "what?" erza said. "you're falling for him.." Gray said "Gray you don't know what you're saying" Erza said turning to walk away. "I see it" gray said "I see the way you look at him I know, because you used to look at me that way" Gray said. Erza stopped she looked down maybe it was true maybe she was she looked back at him "sometimes all we have to do is move on from what hurts us to something that makes us.. Happy, isn't that the right choice? " Erza said "I- I guess you're right" gray said. Erza looked away as he looked down that's when she saw his hotel "there it is"erza said. Gray looked up he had wished to walk longer enjoy her a bit more but it felt like they had walked for a minute." thanks Erza is there anyway I can repay you" Gray said "no it's fine like that I must be on my way" Erza said she began walking away "Erza" Gray said. She turned gray didn't know what to say he had nothing to say he just wanted her to stay a bit more. Erza noticed she gave a soft smile "bye Gray" she said and turned and walked away. Gray stood there he remember it. He remember all that had happen last night how he almost kissed her but he had fake not knowing he knew whatever they had was not going to happen anymore he didn't want to accept the fact that Erza was drifting away more and more. He looked at where she had walked to but she was no longer there. He signed and turn to head inside.
