Kendra's POV
location: Hospital
3:45am
As I hold little Riley Salvatore in my arms I realize that I want this... I want to be a mother.
"Congrats." I say handing her to Vann.
"Thank you... I'm so happy that she's finally here." Vann says starting to tear up.
"I never thought I would be a dad..." Damon says smiling.
"Well you are." Klaus says
"No really?" Damon says sarcastically. Everyone starts to laugh.
"Klaus can I talk to you outside?" I say
"Of course." He says. We walk out and I take a deep breath.
"Klaus I really enjoyed holding Riley in my arms... I want to have an experience that I can have a child of my own... Would you like to be a father?" I ask
"Oh wow." He says
"I'm sorry... I shouldn't have asked that." I say
"No No... It's a lot to take in but I also want to have an experience like that as well." He says grabbing my hands
"I love you." I say
"I love you too." He says as I kiss his lips
"Let's go back in." I whisper in his ear.
"Good idea." He says. We walk back in and I see Alex holding Riley.
"She's adorable." Alex says
"She really looks like Damon." I say hovering over his shoulder.
"she does." Lucas says.
"I'm just so happy... nine months well spent." Vann says smiling.
"And I was always right by your side." Damon says kissing her cheek.
"When can you take her home?" I ask
"Later today. We're leaving at 6pm because we need to sign the papers and all of that. I told Damon he didn't have to say but he INSISTED." Vann says
"That's a good father." Klaus says
"Well Klaus is gonna need some examples." Vann says
"What?" I ask/say
"We heard you talking to Klaus about having a baby." Damon says
"Oh you heard that" I say looking down
"Duh. We have sensitive hearing." Lucas says
"YOU have sensitive hearing, Alex doesn't." Klaus says
"Thanks for reminding me." Alex says giving Damon Riley.
"What that your a woos?" Damon says
"Shut up." Alex says
"Stop arguing. There is a new born baby in the room." Vann says
"Okay well back onto the conversation... Yes, we do want a child that we can raise and call ours." I say smiling while looking at klaus.
"That's a good thing, just don't get a divorce." Vann says
"I wouldn't want to put my son or daughter through that." Klaus says kissing my cheek.
"Can I hold Riley once more?" I ask Damon.
"Of course." He says kissing Riley's forehead. I feel like if me and Klaus have our child Vann and Damon would be a good example for us. As Damon hands me Riley I look at her and I imagine me and Klaus's child taking her first steps. Her first words... especially if it is mama.
