Chapter 3

■■

I couldn't sleep. The men were talking and making too much noise which made it more difficult.

"Oy, keep it down! I'm trying to sleep here..." I scolded.

Will was standing and an one of the outlaws were in his face, shouting about not going to Nottingham.

That's when John appeared. Seriously, it was kinda freaky. He appeared out of nowhere.

"We go to Nottingham," John yelled. His voice thick and scary sounding.

I stood up and curled my hands into fists. "Can I please get some sleep!" I screamed.

All the guys looked at me, then back at John.

"You can sleep when this is over." He roughly told me.

I crossed my arms and mocked him.

On the way to Nottingham, Allan tried talking to me.

"Are you going to be mad at me for being a guy?" Allan asked, jogging up next to me.

I crossed my arms and looked the other way.

"Oh, come on. You can't be mad at me forever..."

I ignored him and kept walking.

"Evelyn, don't leave," Allan shouted, running after me.

I finally turned around and faced him. "Stop! Just stop! I hate being a girl because men think they can take women for granted. Well, I'm not that kind of woman! If you want me, you'll have to prove yourself. Otherwise, leave me alone. I don't need any more heartache." I spun around and walked away.

Allan was shocked, so it took him a bit to process what just happened.

It was dawn break when we found Much stuck on a ladder. And there was an adorable dog guarding the ladder. Allan went over and started petting the dog.

I put my hands on my hips and looked up. "Need some help?" I laughed.

The rest of the guys ran over as Much climbed down.

"Yeah, I was, um... I just, ah checking up there... And, um, yes, as I thought, the ladder is completely useless." Much nervously explained.

John had put the ladder on his shoulders while Much explained why he was up there.

"Are you sure about this?" I asked as Will helped me up.

"Just go," John ordered.

It was just Allan, Much, Will, and I that snuck into the dungeons, where we found Robin and Marian in the room where torture is held.

"Marian?" I pushed my way through the guys.

"Oh my gosh! Evelyn." She happily said, hugging me.

"It's been awhile."

"Yeah, it has. Where've been?" Marian asked me.

"Around. I've been around." I answered.

"It's good to see you." She squeezed me tight before letting go.

Much thought we would come undetected, but we could hear the shouting of guards. The five of us quickly, but quietly ran out. Robin insisted he had five minutes to quickly do something.
