Chapter 6

I needed to talk to Marian. I just don't know what to do with this dilemma. I couldn't make a choice. I suck at making decisions.
Walking up to Marian's home, I saw her was petting her horse.
"Marian."
Marian looked over and saw me. "Evelyn, what are doing here?"
I pulled her inside and went upstairs to her room. "You can not speak a word of what I'm about to say, alright?"
"Of course."
I know I can trust her. Marian and I have been friends since we were little.
I took a deep breath and looked down at my soft hands and sitting down at the same time. "Well... I have a problem. If you could be with Robin, would you?" I asked, looking up at her.
"Well, of course," she answered with a strange tone.
I looked back down. "But Guy stands in the way, right?"
"Right, Evelyn, what is this about?"
"Um... When I came back... Guy put me in the dungeon. There I, um... I met this guy. His name is Allan A Dale. We kinda became, ah, friends... I guess you could say. He kinda told Robin that I was his wife. Anyway, I think that I... that I, um... I have feelings for Allan."
Marian sat down next to me and put her hand on my shoulder. "But Guy stands in the way."
I nodded. "Guy has given me a life. I like Allan and if Guy knew about that, it would make him want to kill Allan. Besides, eventually, I'd want to start a family. And the forest is no place for children."
"I say. Follow your heart." She suggested, rubbing my neck. "If you love Allan that much... go be with him. Only if you know you can handle the forest."
I rested my head on her shoulder. "I know I can handle it. It's just... I'd miss Guy. He was my childhood friend. My first love. It's hard because there's still a little fire in my heart for him."
Marian hugged me close. "I know. That's why I try to help Robin as much as I can."
"Maybe I can go out and check on him, but still stay here. Only until I know for sure."
Marian lightly chuckles. "That sounds fine."
"But if I leave, Guy would go back to you? I don't want to put you in that position."
"No, Evelyn. It would be fine. As long as I know you are happy. Besides, being in the castle is the best place for me. In there I learn things from Guy and others and I can warn Robin if they're going to do something horrible." Marian explained.
I looked up at her with a smile on my face. "You are sneaky."
"I guess I am." She laughed.
"I care for Guy, but I also really care about Allan. Maybe this is something I should not do. Just move away. Not even think about them. I could go to the Holy Land and fight. See if they can find me there." I wildly suggested, sitting up.
"Eve, that would not be wise... you would leave and I would be the only one that knew where. Robin would ask me and I'd refuse to tell him. Eventually, I would say something and knowing Robin, he will go after you."
I pushed Marian's words out of my ear. "Robin cannot control me. He begged me to stay with him, but not for him... for Allan. For many reasons, Robin does not want me staying with Guy."
