Chapter 19

■■

I went back to the manor where I ate some food to get a little more energy. Packing a sack, Betha knocked at my door.

"Where are you traveling to, my lady?" She questions.

"I'm meeting Guy."

"In your state? With the baby?" Betha was majorly concerned about the baby.

I nodded. "I have things under control. I still have months before it comes. I will be back in time for you deliver the baby."

"Well, in that case." Betha leaves the door and goes downstairs, coming back up a sack full of food. "You need to eat good food for the baby."

Giving Betha a huge smile, I took the sack of food. "Thank you." I finished packing my stuff and gave it to one of the help to ready my horse. "Now I may be a few weeks. I'm not sure when Guy and I will be back. I may come back before him."

"I hope everything goes as planned," Betha said, pulling me in for a bear hug.

"Thanks. Well, I should really be off, now." I pushed Betha away, said my goodbyes and quickly left to make sure I could follow the carriage that Guy was in.

I found the carriage stopped at Portsmouth Road Inn. I got a room and went to the pub to have a meal. Wearing a cloak to cover me, in case Guy, Allan, or the Sheriff were in there. Getting my plate of hot food, I sat at a corner table which was a perfect place to see the whole pub. In a matter of minutes, Allan strolled through the door along with Guy and the Sheriff. My baby (Guy) looked tired. I wanted to take him to bed and just hold him, but that would only cause trouble. Mainly, because he told me to stay home and not follow him because I was pregnant. After a bit, Guy walked out and soon after, so did Allan. I wondered where they were going, so I followed. Guy and Allan were stopped in front of the stables talking about Marain. The two of them looked at me but I gazed off in a different direction, so they don't see my face.

"What are you standing there for?" Guy rudely questioned. "Keep walking!"

I vigorously nodded, knowing I was almost and could have been caught.

"Come on, Guy. The man could be drunk. Give em a break." Allan said, backing me up only not knowing that it was me.

Then I walked off to my turning once I hit a corner, so I could still listen. That's when I heard the Sheriff walk into the conversation.

"Can I trust you?" Guy questioned with a deep tone.

"Yeah, of course," Allan replied with slight hesitation.

"Tell me... Robin Hood and Marian," Guy started to say. I could tell he was very hesitate on saying what he was trying to say.

Allan seemed to be not understanding what Guy was asking. "What about them?"

"They're still... Aren't they?"

I could tell Guy still had feelings for Marian by the way he sounded broken saying that sentence. It hurt to know that he still loved her and I was the one holding him back.

"Even if they were, he's finished now, all right? Besides, you have Evelyn and soon to be a father." Allan was doing his best to get Guy to not be hung up on Marian.

"Allan, that's different."

How can it be different? I'm his wife!

"How? Evelyn is you're wife and the mother of your unborn child. You need to be so in love with..." Allan was cut off by the sheriff.

I heard enough, I'm starting to think that I shouldn't have followed Guy. The only way to get Guy completely over Marian is to cut for out of his life... She won't leave Nottingham or Robin. The only way to get rid of her is... to kill her. That's the only way to assure my child will have a father growing up. To assure that Guy won't be sneaking around and teaching our child wrong habits. That's the plan, I'm going to kill Marian.

I was outside, heading to my room when I saw a man sneak out of a room. As I looked closer, I saw that it was Allan. He was sneaking out to the leave, but where was he going. I couldn't take it, I had to know.

"Allan," I whispered, getting closer to him.

Allan spun around frantically. "Evelyn?" He questioned. "What are you doing here?"

"I came to make sure Guy was safe, what are you doing?"

"But you have to worry about the baby, you can't be doing anything to rough. And I can't take it. The Sheriff is going to try and kill the King, so I'm gonna go save Robin. Maybe he'll take me back," Allan explained in a soft whisper.

I smiled, Allan was back. "That's good. You're good, Allan."

"I know. But I should get, hey, if I don't make it back. If I don't see you after this..." Allan took a step in and rested his large hand on my cheek. "I love you, Evelyn... And I will always love you." Then he lean in and kissed me. His soft lips felt so wonderful being on mine once again.

"I'll always love you too, Allan. But you will make it back, okay?" I assured him as tears started to fall down my face. "Now you go save Robin and bring him back here, okay?"

"I will then I can save you from Gisborne," Allan whispered, kissing me once more.

"Oh, Allan. I wish you could, but I his by marriage and now by child. If this was a different life and time, I'm sure we would be together." I gave Allan one last kiss before he left.

I followed the carriage to sea, where the Sheriff got out to stretch. Then they finished their trip off by going into the Port of Acre, The Holy Land. Since I was a pregnant female, I didn't think it was too wise to follow them in. Instead, I lurked around til it was dark outside. Something was bond to happen sooner or later. That's when I heard a familiar voice.

"Now... Hands up who hasn't betrayed the group," the voice said.

"Oh, this one again. How clever," a another voice answer, who sounded like Allan.

Turning a corner, I found them, the Robin Hood gang and I couldn't help myself. I had the prefect chance to scare all of them.

"Now, now, Allan is probably the best man that I know. He is also very loyal to Robin, Much," I said, strolling towards them. Everyone turned my way, ready to fight. "Hey! It's me, Evelyn!"

"Evelyn, what are you doing here?" Robin question, hugging me. "You should be back in Locksley."

I laughed. "Where's the fun in that? Besides, I don't trust the Sheriff, so I came to keep an eye on Guy. I don't want my baby being raised with no father."

"Do they know you're here?" Robin questioned.

I shook my head. "They have no idea, cous. But there's no need to fear, I'm not due for a few more months."

We went to Djac's friend's, where it was safe. Bassam was his name. He agreed to show us where the King's tent was, I stayed back. Robin said that it was too much walking for pregnant women. Good thing I didn't because they didn't come back. I decided to go on my own. Ducking past the people and heading the way Bassam told me to go. He said it was not a good idea since I was pregnant, but I had to make sure Allan was okay.
