Chance

"So, what movie would you like to watch when we get there?" I start the car and start to exit the parking lot

I glance at her and she's staring at her shoes and fiddling with her fingers.

"I personally would love to watch Finding Dory."

I try to make a joke but she still doesn't look up from her feet.

I decide to leave her to her own thoughts and drive the rest of the way in silence.

Ruth

When we arrive I hastily get out of the car and speed walk into the movie theatre.

"Hey! What's the rush?!"
Chance calls out for me with a slight chuckle

God, he's so CUTE when he chuckles

He eventually catches up to me and we walk side by side.

"You know, you interest me Ruth. I've never met anyone like you before."
He smiles at the ceiling

Interest him?

"I've met many girls in my lifetime, many who would kill to share an apartment with me. But you don't seem to enjoy it." He looks at me again in his weird looking-in-the-eye thing.

So THAT'S why I interest him. Dude, no need for the cockiness.

I mentally scowl at him but instead I glance at him. Not in his eyes but his face. When I do I notice him staring at me.

"Hey! You just looked at me!" He grins as we enter the line for tickets "Y'know I'm actually kinda going for Finding Dory. You?"

This guy is such a kid.

I guess he notices me looking at the poster or something because he buys tickets for 'Me Before You'.

I've been wanting to watch that movie ever since it came out!

"This is totally a chick flick but I'll try and enjoy it... for you." He leads me towards the popcorn line

For me?

He cares what I think?

I glance up at him once more but this time he's not looking at me.

I notice things that I didn't notice before, like his totally adorable dimples. And how soft his hair looks, like I just want to touch it forever. His cheekbones almost glint in the light, that's how chiselled they are.

He catches my eye and looks down at me as well. Well, he looks in my eyes and I look at somewhere else on his face. We kind of just stare at each other like that until the popcorn guy at the till says "Next". I'm the one to break off the stare and walk up to the till and I feel his eyes burning into my back.

Eventually, he walks up to the till and makes the order.

Did we just have a moment there?

When we enter the screen we get a seat around the middle. He doesn't try to talk to me or anything, he just sits there in silence. That's new.

Is he feeling awkward because of what happened?

Because that was nothing.

I silently pray for the movie to start already because I feel uncomfortable.

Which doesn't work

In a few minutes it does start though.

I think I saw Chance crying a bit during the movie...

Let's get one thing clear: I have a girlfriend, a beautiful, amazing girlfriend who I love more than anything.

I was just staring at her because she was looking at me which she hardly ever does.
I am NOT attracted to her, alright?

But I have to admit that movie was really good, I thought I'd fall asleep during it.

Somehow I could tell that Ruth enjoyed it to. She had a particular sparkle in her eye when it finished.
