Two Months Later

Ruth

It's been three months.

And only occasional 'Hurry up in there.''s and 'Could you pass the remote?''s.

And I'm done.

He's torturing me.

I can't stand it.

So... I'm ready to take this to another level.

Ew, no - not that level.

Another personal level.

So, I enlist the help of my best friend Riley.

"Hey, what's up?"

She asks when she arrives at the apartment.

Chance isn't home so it's the perfect opportunity to talk to Riley.

I lead her into the living room and show her the grief councilling appointment letters.

She reads it, "You've been going to grief councilling?" I nod and she continues to read it, "And you've stopped now because the counselor thinks you don't need it anymore?" She reads off the sheet

I nod again.

"So, why'd you call me here?"

I give her Chance's progress notes on me and she reads through them

"So... basically, Chance has been helping you get your confidence back but... wait - his last entry was three months ago?" She looks up at me and raises her eyebrow.

She slowly puts the papers down, "Is this to do with you guys not talking?"

I just shrug in response

"So, you must be so behind... what do you want me to do?" She looks at me

I pause, waiting for her to get the obvious answer

"OH! You want me to take over? Oh, my god, I can't do that! I don't know anything about selective mutism. This is going to be so bad.... what if I make it worse?!" She babbles on so I reach out my hand, rest it on hers and smile at her in a reassuring way.

"Okay... thanks, Ruth. I'll try but... whatever. I'll try." She grabs Chance's notes and leaves the apartment waving goodbye.

Okay, um - this wasn't even a filler. I just forgot to add something in the last chapter... sorry.

I wanted to say that the story is nearly over but there's a SEQUEL. It isn't posted yet but make sure to follow me so you're notified when it comes out!

Hugs and kisses xoxo
