PARKER HOUSEHOLD

"Hana! I know I don't hear video game music up there because I'm sure I said homework first!" Chance shouted up the stairs at his eleven-year-old daughter.

"Erm...no! Dad, it's probably from next door!" Hana tried to make an excuse as she shut down her game station and fished her homework out of her school bag

By the time Chance was upstairs, Hana's desk was set out as if she'd been working for hours

"Well, good girl. Look, Jasper's coming over for a playdate today and I need you to be nice. Okay? I know you don't like him but he's a nice boy. Mom's coming home kind of late so it'll be just the three of us." Chance knelt down next to his daughter

"Daaaad! Not Jasper! Can Lil come too?" Hana begged as she didn't want to have to be stuck with Jasper on her own

"I'll call Aunt Sienna, but her brothers might have to come too" Chance walked out the room to the landline to call Sienna.

THE BAKER HOUSEHOLD

"Lil! Give your brother back his glasses! Eric, don't you dare touch her hair! ELLIOT, YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO BE THE OLDEST!" Sienna sighed at her four children

"Why did I have to be so fertile?" She flopped down onto the couch in the living room

"MOM! SHE STILL HAS MY GLASSES!" Ethan shouted across the house

"LILITH! GIVE IT BACK NOW!" Sienna got up and walked into the hallway where her kids were fighting

And then, suddenly the landline rang

"It's Hana!" Lil was hopeful

"It's Joe!" Ethan begged

"It's Brian!" Eric longed

"It's Louis!" Elliot thought

"Please be the hospital telling me I brought home the wrong kids..."

Sienna picked up the phone and was only half-relieved that it was Chance.

"Hey Ch- LIL! DON'T YOU DARE! How's it g- ELLIOT!"

"Um, it's great. It sounds like you could use a bit of time to yourself right now. How about you bring the kids over for a playdate?" Chance suggested

"YES! OH MY GOD!" Sienna exhaled

Chance and Sienna spoke about details and then the phone call ended.

As Lil was running past, Sienna grabbed her and whispered in her ear.

"Two desserts for a week if you don't tell the boys I'm lying to them, okay? We're going to Hana's."

Sienna let Lil go and Lil gave her a respectful nod

"Boys! We're going to the science museum! Come on!"

Almost immediately, the house went silent as everyone grabbed their jackets and ran outside to the car.

Sienna hopped into the front seat and drove away to The Parker House.

After a short drive, they arrived at the house, where Jasper's already arrived. The second Sienna parked the boys started to moan.

"Mooooom! This isn't the science museum! This is Cousin Hana's hoooouuuse!" Eric whined

"Boys! Get out! Your 13 for crying out loud! Cousin Jasper's there! Go say hi and don't misbehave!" Sienna gave her three sons the evil eye and they immediately got out.

"Boys! Welcome back!" Chance swung open the door and Lil ran inside to look for Hana while the boys trudged in

Sienna mouthed a 'Thank You' to Chance and drove off.

Lil ran up the stairs to join Hana in her bedroom.

Until she saw Jasper there too.

"Hi Hana!" Lil ran over and gave her a hug

Hana and Lil tried to stay away from Jasper as much as they could, he was a high schooler.

Jasper was the kind of cousin you felt sorry for, he got picked on at school, he didn't have much friends. His mom's hardly around and his dad's married to another woman.

The girls spent the rest of the afternoon cooped up in Hana's room while the boys and Jasper played games outside.

At around 6pm, Ruth came home

"Guys! I'm home!" She shouted in the house then almost immediately Hana came running down the stairs

"Mom! Dad made me play with Jasper!" Hana cried to her mom

"Oh sweetie, you have to be nice to Jasper. Okay? He's your brother." Ruth stroked her daughter's hair

"Half-brother." Hana grunted walking back upstairs

"Chance!" Ruth called for her husband

Chance appeared in the hallway and planted a kiss on his wife's lips.

"That's not gonna let you off the hook." Ruth told him as they pulled apart

"What did I do?" Chance grinned cheekishly

"Jasper? He's here? You didn't tell me. You know the deal." Ruth dropped her bag

"Sorry honey, it was a last minute thing. I swear, never again. Now where were we." Chance pulled her in from the waist

"Chance, we're in a house of six kids." Ruth laughed

"And they're busy..." He replied and Ruth bit her lip as he led her upstairs

Soooo, this isn't that good since I wrote it last year and it's a bit cringe. But I've been saving it for you guys and I feel this is a good time to post it!
