Chapter 6: The Agreement

Alliyah Cruz (on the side)

"Sya lang naman si..." seryosong nakatingin ang lahat kay Queen Sofia na may mapaglarong ngiti sa labi nya. Ibaabangan namin ang pangalang sasambitin nya. Hindi ko maitanggi na naging curious ako.

Biglang nag-ring ng malakas ang isang phone. Nagring lang naman ang Phone ng magaling na si Rhianne.

"I'm sorry. Sagutin ko lang 'to" pagpapaumanhin nya at saka lumabas.

Tumikhim ang Reyna at nagsalita, "Can I Proceed?" tanong nito. Nagsitanguan ang bawat isa sa amin. Something's not right. Ramdam ko iyon. Parang may hindi maganda...

"Aldren, my son. Meet your long lost sister and my princess, Alliyah Cruz." masayang pahayag ng Reyna at nilingon ang nagmamay-ari ng sinabing pangalan. I tried to smile but I can't. I thought that no one will be added to us, holders. At itong nerd pa na 'to ang dumagdag? Is this a big fcking joke?

I spent my life getting rid of those people who will be a threat to us, holders. Alam ko na kapag may dumagdag sa amin, there will be a lot of adjustments. May bagong kailangang pakitunguhan. And I swear, I will be no saint to this eyeglass girl.

I glanced at my parents. They flashed a smile at me that creeped the hell out of me. They never smile like that in this kind of meeting. They only smile in front of cameras and people who have lots of connection and influence.

"Queen Sofia, the agreement. We have no time to waste, we need them to get ready as soon as possible." said Papa. Now I am curious as hell. They are not talking about me, right? I hope so.

"Yeah, right!" sabi nito at saglit na napahinto ngunit nagpatuloy rin agad. "About being Empress. Mrs. Solivares talked to me this morning and said that her daughter should not be removed as a Princess. So I decided that My Daughter, Alliyah will be the Empress in this school and in the Palace." at malapad na ngumiti. Nilapag ni Queen Sofia ang isang brown envelope at sumulyap kay Nerd na nakayuko lamang. Ano ba kasing meron? Bukod sa pagiging kabilang sa royalties ng nerd na ito?

"And the other Agreement between you and us?" sabi ni Papa at ngumiti. I don't really like this feeling. All of them are acting weird.

"You're not forgotten, Mr. Rivera. I'll do it just for you, and for the sake of our children's happiness and future. But there's something holding me back." pahayag ng reyna. So it's really about me? And wtf, ALDREN?

"No, Queen Sofia. You're a Queen. Whether they like it or not, they shall obey you and us. Considering that you're the Queen and her mother. My son, I'm sure, he'll obey us." sabi ni Papa.

"You've put too much trust on your son. But I think you're right." saglit na katahimikan ang bumalot sa kwarto. "I'd like to say this as loud as I can. I'm just so proud about it.

......you Shawn, You're going to marry My Daughter, Alliyah.." sabi nito at matamang tinignan ako.

"WHAT?" sigaw ko at napahampas ng kamay sa lamesa at napatayo. This can't be happening!

"ANO PO?!" napasigaw rin sya pero nakaupo lang sya at nanlalaki ang mata. Mabilis syang umiling. Nilingon ko yung mga magulang ko at nakipagtagisan ng tingin. No way.

Humalukipkip ang Reyna at nagsalita. "See, they both cursed. I don't think this will work out." sabi nito. Akalaa ko ay matatapos na ang usapan pero biglang natawa ng mahina ang reyna at pumalakpak pa.

"What if, instead of marrying Shawn, why can't we try Tristan? He's a good guy after all." sabi ni Queen Sofia.

"Not here, not now." sabi ni Papa.
