10 years later...

Youngjae's POV

Another stressful year started and I was not prepared. There's just so much shit I had to prepare in order to get 'accepted' into colleges. It's all shit. My grades, my mom, my life.

"Hey Youngjae-ah! Wait up!" Mark calls from behind me. I jokingly walk faster and head straight to my locker. "Ass." He reaches me and punches my shoulder. "Did you hear that a new student is coming today? That never happens!" I laugh and take out my books. "I hope she's hot."

I scoff. "Mark you and I both know you like dick." His eyes widen and he pretends to almost choke me.

"Shut the fuck up! I do not!" I roll my eyes and secure my lock on the small metal ring.

"Then why are you always hanging around-" He covers my mouth and widens his eyes as a warning because, speak of the devil, Jinyoung is walking down the hall.

"Hi Mark." He winks at my best friend and walks past us, leaving him as mute as he always is in their very few conversations. If you can call them that.

"When are you going to answer him?" Mark frowns and hits me on my arm, leaving me in the hallway to go to his class.

Alone.                                              Empty.
That's all I feel these days.

I walked into my class like it was any other day, not realizing the new student was standing in the front of the classroom. I reach my seat the top before I spare a glance at the tall brunette.

He looks vaguely familiar but I can't put my finger on it. "Class, this is Im Jaebum and I would like for you all to help him get accommodated." He bows to the class but no one is really listening, no one really cares. The class has an aura of laziness permanently settled that it's hard to reanimate them.

Im Jaebum. Im Jaebum? Sounds familiar...

"You can sit next to Choi Youngjae. Raise your hand, Youngjae!" Everyone turns to look at me, even Jaebum, and I semi raise my hand. He smiles and walks up, taking the seat to my left.

"Hi." He smiles at me and takes out his school materials. I ignore him and start writing notes down that the teacher gave. Eventually the bell rang and I gathered my stuff to leave as fast as I can. I don't want to be stuck showing around- "hey wait!" He calls after me. The teacher glares at me so I wait for the new kid. He runs down the steps to the front of the class, holding his notebook in his hand.

"Let's go." I sigh.

"Oh Mr. Choi!" I stop in my tracks and turn to face my teacher. "I'll give you a pass to show Mr. Im around the school." I snatch the pass and grab Jaebum's arm with my free hand.

"This is a high school, this is called a hallway..." I start out sarcastically.

"Wait um..." He interrupts me and stops walking. "I'm Jaebum."

"Yeah I know. I heard the teacher earlier." I begin walking again but he stops me a second time, his hand on my arm.

"No I don't think you get it. I'm Jaebum."

I look at him questionably. This kid is weird. "Whatever. Let's go." He sighs and follows me, down to the gym. We continue the tour as slow as possible since I really didn't want to go to my next class. When we were done, he tried to talk about himself, the move and his childhood.

"So there was this park that was my favorite place to go because I wanted to hang out with this guy-"

"Let me stop you right there. I'm not interested in your life story, or why you came here. I'm just stalling so I don't have to go to class. Got it?" He nods and we enter the empty cafeteria.

"This is where we eat. You need to find some friends soon because you'll look weird if you eat alone."

"Can't I eat with you?"

"Absolutely not. I eat with my bestest friend in the whole world." He winces at the words best friend so I assume he doesn't have one.

"Which is?"

"Mark Tuan. You don't know him."

"I'd like to. Any friend of Youngjae's is a friend of mine." There was something about this guy that just made me uncomfortable. He made my hair raise and always said the exact things that made me squirm. Who talks like that?

"Let's get one thing straight. I'm not your friend. I'll never be your friend. I don't know you, you don't know me and it's better if we get back to class now because this pass won't let us off the hook forever." He stands frozen at my harsh words, as if he was in shock or that he heard the last thing he had ever expected to hear. But that's the thing, I don't give a fuck about what he thinks. We walk back to his classroom and I drop him off, ignoring his goodbye.

My friend wanted me to update.
