The whip was 2 seconds away from hitting Annabeth when a throwing star cut the rope in half. The next few seconds happened in a daze the world around Annabeth spun as she fell to the ground. She felt blood coming out of every cut in her body and every single bruise the courtiers made and it all took a toll and right before she fell into the darkness she heard Jasmine yelling her name. The next two days Annabeth slipped in and out of conciseness but on the third day Annabeth woke. Every bone in her body ached and she had the worst headache in history.
Annabeth took in her surroundings she recognized her surroundings and knew she was in the infirmary. "Kid that had gotta be the stupidest thing you've ever done" said a voice from behind her. Annabeth turned around the see Jasmine sitting in a chair by her bed. "Why wouldn't you have run as soon as you freed Sarah" asked Jasmine eyeing her. Annabeth considered the question for a moment before speaking. "If I would have those girls would have only chased us and caught us again it was better if one of us got help" said Annabeth her face set in determined lines. "You know if those girls would have hit you one more time they would have killed you" said Jasmine shaking her head. Annabeth considered it but it for some reason didn't care.
"I guess I wasn't really thinking about me at all" said Annabeth surprised that she really meant it. Jasmine looked at her apprentice and thought about the moment of panic she felt when she thought Annabeth wasn't gonna make it and realized no matter how many questions she asked or how many stupid things she did she would always be her apprentice in her mind. "That Annabeth is why I chose you as a runner so yes what you did was stupid but it was great" said Jasmine with a nod of her head. In that moment Annabeth realized how much Jasmine's approval meant to her and knew she would try to never let her down.
