"Hey Kyla, what should we watch, Knockout or Legendary?" Logan asks as I enter his and Michael's room. Friday night around our house used to be spent as a movie night, now we all do whatever. Dylan and Bryan are at a party. Tyson and Drake are studying. Logan, Michael, and I are having a movie night.

"I have to go with Knockout. We watched Legendary last time." I reply as Michael comes in the room with popcorn in his hand. I walk over to his bed and lay on my stomach where my feet are by his pillows and I'm facing the TV.

"At least she didn't say Forever Strong." Michael mutters.

"No fighting. We're being civil and getting along. One night, just one movie filled night where Kyla yells at the movie and Mike and I laugh at her. One night where we all forget about everything. We have plenty of time. We can watch both movies and a christmas movie since Kyla has a slight obsession with them, not that she'll admit it." Logan interrupts our soon-to-be argument.

"Turn on Knockout, now!" I demand. I haven't watched Knockout in months!

"I still don't get why you like any of those movies as much as you do." Michael says after hours of movies. I throw popcorn at him causing him to laugh.

"Go to sleep, we can't sleep all day tomorrow." Logan says, getting out his phone.

"How do you guys feel now that it's been about a week since the move?" I ask slowly, hoping this doesn't lead into a fight.

"I'm kind of liking it here." Michael responds and Logan nods in agreement.

"Next Friday is the scrimmage. We have exactly a week. Ready for life to go back to normal?"

"Normal? We don't do normal, Ky. You must be sleep deprived if you think life'll go back to normal." Logan states dryly. I nod and walk into my room knowing the tired part's real. I throw myself on my bed and feel sleep pulling me under.

"Kyla, don't go in there!" My father's best friend warns me as I'm about to enter my parents' bedroom. I ignore him and open the door, he might be staying here since his wife realized how much of a jerk he is, but he can't tell me where to go. My parents haven't been home in a month, I need to talk to them. My mom's not here, my dad is though, he's talking to another guy in quiet voices. They haven't noticed me yet so I stay still.

"Sir, looking for him would be a bad idea." The stranger says.

"He is the reason she didn't abort when we found out. Tell me how we lost him and got stuck with her. I wouldn't have to look for him if your guys did your job correctly." My father says in a quiet angry voice. His eyes snap to me and I swear he got angrier.

"Daddy?" I ask quietly. "Where's mommy?"

"Kyla, I told you not to enter this room. Guess you'll just have to be taught a lesson." William, my dad's best friend, says grabbing my arm. He yanks me out of the room and slaps me telling me to listen and not be so stupid. I yell out for my dad but he ignores me.

"What's going on?" Tyson asks coming into the room, glaring at William.

"Kyla here, doesn't get the importance of listening." William says, glaring at me.

Someone starts shaking me and calling my name. I open my eyes to see Michael sitting beside me with a worried look on his face.

"You had the nightmare again, didn't you?" Michael asks quietly. I just nod causing him to wrap his arms around me and hold me close, almost as if he's afraid I'll disappear if he lets go.
