My brothers get out of the car first and I follow behind. All eyes on us, girls eyeing my brothers making me cringe. I start walking towards the entrance, knowing my brothers are right behind me.
"NICOLE!" A voice shouts from the distance, making me stop. I look towards the direction of the voice and Talia's running towards me. I wait for her to catch up, smiling at her when she does.
"Hey Talia, what's up?" I ask with amusement dancing around my face.
"I'll show you guys to the office so you can get your schedules." She says walking ahead of me and the boys. We follow behind and soon reach the office.
"Hey Cindy, this is the Richardson family, take care of them, yeah?" She says before walking out of the office.
"Kyla, Logan, Michael, Bryan, and Dylan?" The lady, Cindy, asks after typing on her computer.
"Yes ma'am." Dylan replies, politely.
"Okay, here's your schedules, locker codes, and rules." She says printing out some pages and handing them over. Bryan takes them from her and we walk out, smiling at her before we leave.
"Okay, football tryouts are after school so meet us out at the field after school." Bryan tells me as he hands out our schedules. I nod looking over my schedule.
1st period: American History
2nd period: English 3
3rd period: German 2
4th period: HTML
~Lunch~
5th period: Trigonometry
6th period: Advanced Theater
7th period: Biology 2I smile seeing my schedule. At my last school, we had 8 classes, 4 core curriculum classes and 4 electives. I chose Spanish and German last year along with a computer class and Theater. Dylan and Michael are taking German 2 while all of my brothers are taking Trigonometry, since I'm in advanced classes for math. Other that that, with the grade difference I'm taking different classes than them.
"Let me see yours, Ky." Michael says knocking me out of my thoughts. I look up to see them all with their schedules out obviously comparing them. I hand mine over and a minute later they're cheering since we all have 5th together. Michael, Dylan, and I have 3rd together. I smile and grab my schedule back.
"I'll see you guys at lunch. Well Dyl and Mike, I'll see you in 3rd but I'll see the rest of you at lunch." I say before heading off towards my classroom. I reach the classroom and go inside, ready for a long hour in history. The teacher's already in here and gives me a confused look when he sees me.
"Hello, I'm Kyla Richardson." I greet when I walk up to his desk.
"Ah, the new student, welcome." He replies. "Take a seat wherever."
I walk away from his desk and take a seat in the middle of the rows. End of the middle row so I'm as far away from his desk as possible. I was always told to never sit up front and look like a nerd or sit in the back with the troublemakers. I might not like stereotypes but I tend to play it safe and sit in a seat around this area when it's open seating charts. The bell rings minutes later and kids start piling into the room. Five minutes filled with people coming in and going out, talking to their friends, and being annoying, the tardy bell finally rings.
"Alright class, we've got a new face in the crowd today so welcome, Kyla. Now we'll start with turning in last night's homework." He says with causes a load groan to come from the class. The lesson is as expected, boring. When the bell rings signaling class over, I am ready to run out of there. I walk to second period, my favorite class. When it ends I practically run to third period.
"Hey losers." I say as I slide into the seat beside Michael. Dylan's sitting on the other side of him.
"How's it going so far?" Michael asks as I get out my notebook.
