~~Talia's POV~~
"Where's Kyla?" I ask, seeing Alex take her seat at lunch. I have yet to see the girl since that day at Connor's. She came to school with her brothers, I assume.
"Haven't seen her." Alex shrugs, glancing around the cafeteria as if Kyla will magically appear.
"She hasn't been around since she left Connor's." Thomas points out. We all look at Connor and he looks down at the table.
"What do you know?" I ask, raising an eyebrow.
"She was at my house to babysit Kira while you all were out partying." He informs us.
"I thought you bailed on us to do that." I say, confused.
"I did." He nods. Alex and I glance at each other, but quickly look away.
"I'll go ask the boys." I say, getting up, before making my way to the football table. Dylan smiles at me, giving me a kiss.
"Hey babe." He wraps an arm around my waist, pulling me into the seat beside him.
"Dylan, stop. Where's Kyla?" I ask, my tome stern, shocking them all.
"I think she said something about the library." Michael mutters, when everyone stayed quiet. What's gotten into him?
"Okay." I say, giving him a weird look.
"Leave her alone. She clearly doesn't want anyone around or she wouldn't have gone to the library. That's how you know it's bad, when she hides in there. Don't bother her." Michael suddenly says, sending me a glare.
"What is your problem? I'm going to go check on my best friend. I think I know what's best for her, thanks." I say, my tone turning extremely Kyla-like. He looks taken aback at first and I take that time to make my exit. I head to the library, trying to find it since I have never been there before.
I see Kyla hiding behind a book, I get closer to see the title, Before. She's extremely into it, so she doesn't notice me watching her.
"Kyla." I say, quietly, almost afraid to talk. She jumps at the sound of my voice.
"Go away." She says, sending me a quick glare.
"Kyla." I try again.
"Your boyfriend is in the cafeteria. I think you got a bit lost getting there, but it's not here." She snaps, eyes still on her book.
"I'm sorry, Kyla." I say, feeling bad about what she heard.
"I don't care. You got what you want now leave me alone." She seems so hurt, it breaks my heart to see her like this.
"You know that we love you. I didn't befriend you to get with Dylan. I befriended you because you were different. We all need a bit of difference in our lives." I sound so desperate, but Kyla has become one of my best friends. I need her by my side, not against me.
"Alls you care about is your little relationship and that's fine, but just go the hell away." Her voice raises, catching the attention of the librarian.
"No I don't, Kyla. I could easily be in the cafeteria with your brother right now, but I'm not. I'm here with you." I say, as we exit the library.
"I never asked you to." She says, before storming away. I head back to the cafeteria, sulking a bit.
"Gonna say it didn't go too well?" Alex asks, sympathy in her eyes.
"She's being so melodramatic. I'm trying." I huff, getting irritated. Apparently I said the wrong thing, because Conner loses his cool, which is something that never happens.
