Clarke sat against a wall and stared at the lifeless body of the dog, which laid in a puddle of blood. She was still picturing everything happening all over again in her mind, and she was terrorized. She had never come nearly of killing something in her entire life, and now she had just killed a dog. A mutated dog, but still.
She hugged her knees tighter and leaned her chin on top of them, her eyes not leaving the body. It was just a dog, and that dog was ready to kill her. If she would've shot it one second later, it would've been too late. It would have bit her neck and probably kill her. Her eyes filled with more tears at the thought, but she let them flow down her face. She felt so overwhelmed with everything happening.
"Clarke, it would've killed you." Finn calmly told her as he crouched in front of her, his eyes looking for hers. "You did what was right, okay?"
When she finally looked back into his eyes, she nodded slowly and exhaled deeply. Then, she recalled the events that happened before the dog, and her heart twitched. "Finn... Why... Why did you come here by yourself without letting me know?" She asked, her brows raising softly out of confusion.
At her question, Finn immediately glanced down, trying to create a sentence into his mind. "I just..." He paused, his eyes meeting again with Clarke's. "I thought I could've done it by myself but... When I got in here, I... I got scared and..." He trailed off. "And then I heard the growls, that's when I knew I was trapped." He glanced down again. "I'm sorry, Clarke... I just..."
"You what?"
"I didn't want you to get hurt. I thought if I would've gone by myself I could've found the antidote, and we could've gotten the hell out of here sooner, but... I... I failed, and look in what kind of situation I put you in..." He said, this time feeling Clarke's hand covering his wrist.
"Hey, I'm... I'm okay. I didn't die or got hurt, did I?" She replied with the hint of a smile drawing on her lips. She usually wouldn't have been in a mood to smile, but Finn had that effect on her; no matter what was happening, his presence comforted her. "But..." She continued, tilting her head lightly. "I still wish you would've told me."
His eyes remained on the floor, feeling her fingers stroking the skin of his arm slowly. "I promise I won't do something like that again," he said, looking up to find her eyes. Only the light from the flashlight remained in the room, but it was just enough for them to see each other's faces, and know when one was smiling. That's only when he noticed the drops of blood covering her features, and even some were on her lips. But even with all of that, her beauty wouldn't fail him. Since the first second their eyes met and every days following that day, he had always thought her beauty surpassed everything he had seen in his life, but he had never dared saying it out loud. After a short moment of staring, he broke their gaze. "We should keep looking for that antidote, it's getting late and I don't really want to have to be stuck in here for another hour..."
Clarke nodded before tucking a piece of hair behind her ear, glancing down as well. Her cheeks tinted with a pale shade of pink as she smiled faintly, relived to simply be with him.

The two of them continued wandering around the ward, ignoring the multiple dead bodies on the floor. The entire room was actually really terrifying, but they had to find the antidote.
Finn held the flashlight with one hand, the other holding his gun. He had no idea really where the antidote was supposed to be, and it really felt like they were wasting their time here. Clarke closely followed behind, making sure to produce the less noises possible, not wanting to alert the dogs if there was still a few in the lab. She glanced all around them, trying to see something through the darkness. They only had one flashlight, and she felt a bit useless as the best thing she could do was to stay by Finn's side and always look at the same place he was looking at.
