Clarke felt her heart aches for more as their lips parted, profiting of the occasion to let her tearful bright blue eyes stare in his as a small sob escaped her mouth. She wasn't sure what to feel, nor what to think as she remained extremely upset from his previous acts; no matter what his intentions were meant to be. He's had the thought of harming himself, and it saddened her much more than expected. What was supposed to happen, now? Now that he was standing so close in front of her, breathing the same air.

But, she had craved to feel his lips against hers for a while already, and that's what he had just given her. He had kissed her as though she was the most precious thing he had on earth.

Their faces were still close of each other and she could feel his warm breath on her cheeks, sending an unfamiliar feeling down her spine. His eyes seemed to be holding something profound, and Clarke wasn't sure if it was sorrow or regrets. But either ways, it pained her.

His thumbs caressed her cheeks tenderly as though he was about to lean in again, but she lowered her head and avoided his lips. She let her fingers move down his shoulders before reaching his wrists, and turned one of them over. As she carefully rolled his sleeve up and revealed a large red, yellowed injury covering his wrist — caused by the cigarette, Finn glanced away and felt everything inside him as though it was shattering out of shame.

When she looked up at him again, his brows were furrowed, as if trying to read her like an open book. "Why did you..." she began, but the other words wouldn't come out of her mouth; she was overwhelmed with pain and confusion.

His eyes drifted down to his own wrist, the one she had turned over. He knew very well that she was probably going to throw multiple questions at him, and as much as he didn't want to talk about this, she deserved to know what had been going on his mind the past couple of hours. Their eyes met again and his heart twitched a little. "I just... I thought I... I thought I deserved it..." the last words came out through a cracked voice, as though he was about to burst into a sob. His eyes glittered with tears, and his brows curved upward as if he was struggling to contain his emotions deep down his chest. "The pain..." he murmured.

The blonde's face melted into a strange expression as though she was about to cry, but nothing came out of her mouth. Instead, she lifted her hand to his face and carefully touched his warm cheek, letting her eyes meet with his. "Nobody does deserve such things, Finn..." she muttered, her grip tightening around his arm. "And... especially not you. I-I know you're in pain, you're in so much pain, and you may think it's going to solve things. But pain is... pain is not the solution to our problems. D-do you... do you understand?"

It took him a while, but eventually, he nodded. And then, Clarke wrapped her arms around him, burying her head into his chest. She closed her eyes and immediately felt his arms close firmly around her as well, and the both of them held tight to each other as though their lives depended on it. As though if they were to let go for a second, a tiny little second, everything they had ever known would have collapsed and be lost forever.

A few moments later, as his arms began pressing her closer to him, Clarke pulled away a little, only so she could've cupped her hands around his face. "I'm... I'm sorry..." she said, deciding to keep going as soon as his brows furrowed a little. "For how I behaved after what... what we did, back in my house. I..."

"We... we don't have to talk about this..." he said, trying to find her receding eyes. He wasn't sure what he was supposed to say; after all, what happened between them was the reason why they've been avoiding the other for such a painful lot amount of time. And because of that, he didn't want her to feel like they absolutely had to speak about it ever again.
